I've read your reply (above) over and over nearly turning into a chant in my mind but though very informative it still feels as empty as when I first read it. I know I'm meant to connect with it but the only thing I can see is 'moths to the flame' image flapping in my mind. Am I only meant to understand the importance of the journey when I'm half way down the road? I study, and I let the hunger for it take over me (when it comes over me), but I'm always left with a bigger hole after I'm burnt out after a few months. More questions and more doubts. I don't know Denise I suppose I should be asking for your help because the more I practice the further away it gets and when I strip away all the ego involved it just loses all it's meaning. What should I do? Would a reading be worth my time? I've been playing with the idea for over a year now.


[INFOBURST: Sounds like you may be going through a Dark Night of The Soul experience. This is far too personal to air here and yes I would advise
a consultation with Marabas about it . It is true that perhaps 90 of what passes for occultism on the internet and in headshops is time-wasting and can mislead a true seeker. Marabas calls this vapidity the worst kind of black magic because it inadvertently interferes with another's true will. That is why having access to an adept who will tell it like it is, is SO important. We have consistently decried the pappy-handed New Age 'occult hobbyists' but the way is the work and people will come to see what's what in time.

If it is to attain ones desires, then in the end, what should our desire be? To attain 'oblivion'?

[Infoburst: You are perhaps confusing ambition with method. Marabas teaches that the aim or ambition of The Great Work is to obtain Magical Memory and perceive one's place in the universe without time and space, recovering knowledge and experiences from other incarnations which perfect the soul in the process and thence to unite with godhead (or return to source). It has nothing to do with oblivion. The rites of magick are tried and tested methods to refine and focus the body and mind to achieve this aim and this is referred to as High Magick. Low magic (i.e. magick for results)is the use of magical procedures to short-cut or otherwise enable the pursuit of the Great Work which, in those who are non-initiated gravitate to short-term materialistic objectives. There is nothing wrong with materialism at the beginning and Marabas holds that most people who have eventually become aware and illuminated were drawn to using magic for materialistic purposes to start with.
