Anyone out there actually tried an evocation out of this book and if so what results occured ?
More to the point what about theses pacts you can make with positive and negative beings is it plausable, surely one of the greatest Occultists of the last century can't be bullshitting.

I'm still wading through Initiation into Hermetics.

To be productive (which is why I think this site is here) How do you know if you can perform magic? You FEEL it. For me, it is like the swirling of air when the energy is right. Magic is not like twitching your nose and something happens immediately. There is so much more to it and you would benefit from live training. Regarding
what makes your magic more powerful and what weakens it, power comes from you-witchcraft is not like Reiki where the energy comes from somewhere else and blesses you along the way. So if you are well and focused, you probably going to have a pretty good outcome. If you are sickly and scattered, your outcome will probably be disappointing. I do not know how many types of magic exist, however, I can say it is better to be true to a few "trades" than to be just a "jack of all".
I believe that all energy and life has a corresponding color AND tone (sound) so I believe your answer is yes. However, I would find it very difficult to believe that anyone alive today could authenticate any knowledge of "the very first magic ever used".
It is my belief that anyone can perform magic-it is like learning a trade. Some will be more suited to it, learn faster and perhaps have a better display of ability. But the potential is there for all. I do not believe that age has anything to do with the awakening of powers.
