Dear Ethericsoul, having only just found this thread, Dear Brother/sister, you're a natural! 'Sleep paralysis': If you try rocking your lower body, as if on a swing, you could swing out of your flesh suit, and travel The Etheric Plane in your Etheric Soul! Of course, as you're non-plussed currently, Fr,Marabuses and Denises advice is for you, I simply say, you have 'the gift'.

Since the last message I have Practiced LBRP again with no deletrious effects at all and have done Regardies Middle Pillar Exersise within its boundaries. I have found it very effective in restoring ones equipose and peace and harmony and if one does it after a stressfull day at work one feels restored as if one had not gone to work in all fairness though i did work with OEXP34 for a month prior to that having got rid of the old inapropriate lino floor in my workroom and replacing it with black and white square tile effect laminate which means wherever one stands one is in white a white square or a black square surrounded by its opposite colour cross even so I did have a lucid (just having got into bed dream of levitating and flying around in the room and another of growing and extening up into space which I managed to catch hold of with my will but such are good signs arn't they!)

I don't recall experiencing altered consciousness on trains or buses; however, I have had somewhat similar experiences at a former job that involved document coding at a computer all day. Computers can do rather odd things to one's mind; eventually I had to go outside for walks during lunch breaks every day just to stay grounded.
I do happen to be clairsentient, and have had encounters with relatives and at least one musician friend after they passed away. I don't want to take up too much space elaborating here; but feeling spirit energy is a fascinating, if sometimes unnerving experience. A bit like a very abrupt rush of adrenaline...

Living with Marcia over the years, I saw many of the black shadows etc. almost to many ghostly tales to recount, I took this picture in 2006 about 3.30am on Redcar beach, on a 2 second expoure.
Just after I took it I walked down the slpway towards where the spooks/entities "whatever" are clearly visible on the picture and saw nothing.
The fact that the shading covers the sea as well as the sand says that something must have been between lens and sea.the other odd thing is that it's been on my site snce 2006, and no one has mentioned it, while the film pics are frequently mentioned

Banishing and encircling rituals

During my years of interest in magic I have experimented with numerous different banishing and encircling rituals with different kinds of result some seeming negative and others positive(see my response in the the strand on Supernatrual Experiences). I have created this strand because it could be a fertile topic for fruitful discusion in itself as apart from general supernatural experiences.

I too have practiced LBRP of the Golden Dawn and yes it does stir things up and cause waking dreams but of cause ones aim in magic is to accelerate ones evolution and the dark things that come to light are probably like limpets that for years have been fastened to the pier of the unconsious but have been brought to consiousness were they can be dealt with. Inevitably magical practices will set things into motion and what has to be dealt with initially may not necesarily be very pleasant nevertheless it is vital to have to deal with these things initially that are manifestations of unconsious complexes that are holding the individual back from magical development. For me magic is about the emancipation of the individual but before we can be free we have to deal with those creatures of terror that enslave us from deep within unconsiously. I had some awful (and yet wonderful) experiences in the first few years as I tried and fumbled away to use magical techniques to fight to liberate myself from what seemed to be depression some experiences being of non human things that would look good in a Dennis Wheatly black magic movie. Since listening to the Marabas Psychic Self Defence Tape I now realise I was probably under psychic attack from factors in the environment such as paranoid and jealous neighbours and the like. The most powerful Banishing Ritual I practiced which seemed to cure that and turned my life around competely was the Aurum Solis Setting of the Wards of Power after doing that consistently starting at an appropriate Astrologically chosen time my confidence increased enormously, the magical space establised by it came to feel intensley and beautifully clean(myself aswell) and after a magical year of some strange and beautiful visionary experiences while working with techniques in this system I was able to move on and achieve things in my life that I could not do before like joining MENSA and going to university to do a degree. Recently, I have worked an entire month with the SA version Rosey Cross Ritual and can attest that it is very effective in calming the astral evironment down and bringing peace and harmony eliminates tension in the atmosphere and cures insomnia. In my case at the end of the analysis at the descent of the column of light a vision of a shield a cross within a circle not rosey red but like the kabbalistic symbol for Earth with quadrants in Citrine Olive Russet and Black. I seem to have had some prophetic dreams before doing this ritual relating to it and this shield (like the back of a GD Pentacle) seems to come into the mind most readilly but does seem to want to dominate everything. It may be better to follow a plan like in Israel Regardie's One Year Manual and ignore the LBRP completely using Rose Cross instead and do the Middle Pillar within this. Despite being a beginner's ritual it is probably quite hard to draw accurate pentegrams and visualise them correctly at first and when you can they tend to burn black bars into a grey background read Aleister Crowleys Diary John St John and discover how he visualised them and also if done right you should see the star of david the sign of the macrocosm above and below you in the column of light that holds you in the circle. I THINK many people overlook this very important but vital final stage as this is the stage that cuts you off from qliphothic or unbalanced elements that are there all the time in the everyday world and calls down positive celestial powers. Kraig describes RcR as a cloaking ritual but remove the GD jargon and it is probably a powerful temple grounding and shielding ritual.
Any way encircling rituals and banishing rituals are of great interest and perhaps should not corrupt the strand on supernatrual experiences and deserve a strand for discussion all by themselves.
