Hmmm...I just found some info on the Cook Report business (from 1988, I think); and I begin to see what you mean. Here in Seattle and vicinity, there are a number of Pagan and metaphysical bookstores that are seldom bothered in a significant way; but Seattle is a lot more progressive than other parts of the U.S. I can only imagine what the folks at Edge of the Circle Bookstore would be facing down in, say, South Carolina, or rural Colorado...

Hi RP and thanks for your kind comments. On the face of it (forgive the pun) it seems like a good idea and M has indeed considered Face Book, but there are confidentiality problems with Blogs and this is why Marabas chose this forum method as a communal debating area instead. As you know you can say more or less what you want in the S.A.Esoteric Forum and do so with complete anonymity. Equally everyone who uses it is, or should be, perfectly aware that it is a public forum and that many other people, (friends and enemies) will be surfing it regularly. Thus inately contributors will be careful and moderate their approach accordingly. As I mentioned on another thread elsewhere in this forum we are already working on a special webchat system where clients who sign-in under their client numbers will be able to take part in real-time in discussions and lectures with Marabas. We think this is a much safer and more workmanlike option but are open to suggestions for and against.

As far as Karen's suggestion about staff Blogs is concerned one has to realise that the people who work here are constantly under attack from fundamentalists of all persuasions - it comes with the territory. I won't go into the details of the tricks these anally retentive people try because it may enthuse more of them, but whenever possible Marabas always protects his helpers. I well remember during the despicable persecution of Marabas by the Cook Report, when they laid siege to our premises, M broke out the Halloween stock and issued face masks to everyone before we exited the building so that they couldn't be identified on film. This was particularly crucial in the case of one female member of staff whom M had given sanctuary to after fleeing from an abusive relationship. BB Denise W.

I wonder if the S.A. has any Myspace presence, come to think of it? For some reason, I can't even recall how I stumbled across the S.A. website; but I got there, eventually (and got quite hooked on the cyberbooks, and would purchase and download a lot of other products, if money was no obstacle...LOL). Do any of the S.A. staff have Myspace or Facebook pages? I 've got a Myspace page, and just opened one on Facebook; I'm still sort of figuring out how to maneuver through Facebook...

Anyway, hope everyone in the U.K. is having better weather than here in Seattle. We got snow on Friday, and we've been nearly freezing to death this past week. Enjoy spring, everyone...

Hi,

Please don't think of what I have written as presumption. I thought that I would sound my idea, but just to obtain some feedback with regards to anything similar that you may be planning for the future.

I was wondering if Marabas and the S.A would consider using Facebook as a medium for contact with clients? Although not entirely the same thing, lot of Orders are now running both official and unofficial Facebook as a means of information exchange,networking and contact.

Another interesting idea that Facebook could support is something for friends of the S.A, and by that I mean that as a guess, I summise that there should be some kind of egregore that nearly all S.A clients share - irrespective of Path. Why? My idea comes from the fact that all regular clients know that the S.A is the absolute best and also we will have used many of the same top quality items of paraphernalia be they incenses,oils,candles a.s.o. as a result then, there should be a subtle consenses and dare I say fraternity between all.

This is only an idea which you may or may not like but from my own point of view I think it could work, and that it would be of immense benifit to the S.A and its clients. What do you think?
