	I still think that the curse of charlatanism is a menace to society.A read through the classifieds of any prediction type magazines is proof that con-artists, the deluded and the criminally insane are at work. The law needs to clearly define what is legitimate business and what is outright fraud.

	Surely the problem is once they start legislating in this area we'll soon find the law being used for persecution once more? The FMA is redundant and should be repealed as it provides no real protection for the public, yet can be used, as it was in Barnsley some years ago, when real crime (in this case theft) couldn't be proved.

	we all know that the S.A is the only real trustworthy business in the modern occult world. Perhaps there are few people who are getting close to this exceptional standard-but not many!I think that many people in the occult business are creating a real problem that needs to be dealt with. Fraudulent rip off premium rate tarot lines, fake astrologers, fake palmists and tarot readers! Self proclaimed clairvoyants heckling passers by in the street. This must include the growing plethora of self styled non-initiate authors on magick and unripe guru's who in their meglomania set up their own phoney magical orders. Surely there is a need for some kind of protection, for ordinary people,seekers of the path as well as the sanctity of the mysteries themselves???

	Hi - i wondered if anyone out there has an opinion on this? Does something need to be done? Is there anything that can be done? Is it irrelevant? Will it only affect New Age Nonsense or are we all under threat? I've been scratching my head about this for a while now, so thoughts from you all are appreciated - Thanks Richard "We would also like to bring you up to date about the proposed Repeal of the Fraudulent Mediums Act. Unless we all make some effort to take control of events the Act will be replaced in part or in its entirety by the Consumer Protection Regulations in April 2008. This will place the onus on the medium, trader in spiritual goods etc to prove that they were not fraudulent. The Fraudulent Mediums Act put the onus on the person complaining to prove that the medium was fraudulent."
