Hi Chris. Sorry it took so long, Im in the middle of moving house. Its best not to think about the hows and whys of spells manifesting. Just be ready to grab the opertunities. Trying not to think about something is a real test in itself, when the mind decides its important it can be a real fight to stop the thoughts.
The Opening Gateways course i recomended taught me to controll my awarness and focus it in to the here/now, a valuable tool to stop the whats and hows of the mind.
Good Luck

Hi all. I have been told that I need to lay my tarot cards out with the pictures facing upwards in view of a full moon when they become 'sticky' so that the vibrations of the moon can cleanse them. Has anyone heard of this or tried it and does it make a difference? I have been told that the stickiness is due to picking up psychic dross and peoples emotions when using them and keeping them wrapped in black silk doesn't prevent this.
[Infoburst: Someone has been confusing you. Moonlight doesn't cleanse but it will sensitise you and is superb for increasing the psychic abilities of the magician or witch. To cleanse any hard-surface equipment (i.e. altar top, candlesticks, athames, swords, etc) of psychic vibrations you
you should use a cap-full of Chinese Wash in a pint of ordinary tap water and wash the items down with it. Marabas teaches that the traditional way to cleanse fabric or paper, vellum, parchment etc is to pass them through the fumes from
Purification Incense B554N. Your advisor is perfectly right in that the cards will take-up the vibrations of each person you read for and this of course is absolutely necessary which is why all querents should be asked to shuffle the tarot before a reading is done for them. However, strictly speaking to get the best results you should also be fuming the cards after every consultation to psychically cleanse them from the previous reading. Wrapping an item in black silk will stop them from attracting unwanted psychic vibrations. If the item has already been charged ritually then the silk will also keep that charge and stop it from dissipating (ideal for amulets, talismans and altar equipment). BB Denise W.

Hi again Ricenpeas, thought I would ask you another question if you don't mind. Have you any tips on how to stay positive about your magic after casting a spell? There are things going on that make it very difficult to do. I would welcome advice from anyone else reading this too. Thanks in advance!

I find painting the symbols helps alot, i realy indulge myself in the colours. (trick i learnt from
Marabas's elemental gateway symbol cards). Then I just remeber what i have painted. The same technique can be used to create Angels ect using the book Angelic Images-Construction of Godforms and Astral Imagaes. The book goes with the Complete Golden Dawn but can also be used freestyle to suit.

Yeah thats right. Pictures, etc, serve to imprint on your mind what something should basically look like and then later, when you come to visualise it, the task will be easier. As you point out, the trick then is to use the other senses in conjunction to make the visualisation 'come alive' so to speak. It's not impossible to learn (I assume!) but is tricky and needs practice......unless you're marvelously gifted that is and you can do it from day one!!

Great stuff Windymiller. Visulising isnt alien power, only obtainable by a chosen few, as some seem to make out. Its a natural proccess that we all do all of the time. For example, if i were to ask you to remember what your sofa looks like?...what colour is your sofa?...how does it smell?....how does it feel?.. If i were to ask you to describe your sofa in detail you would have to recall/visualise it. Hold that recall/visualisation in your mind for as long as you can and you are exercising your visual skills. As you nicely pointed out this can be also be done with pictures but make sure to use all 5 senses. Feel, smell, hear and even taste that flaming pentergram.
Nice one

Hey there. I asked exactly the same question of the SA a few days back and Denise replied with a bit of advice...I won't copy the e-mail out cos' it'll take too long but will just give the essentials: get yourself OEXP037 on visualisation -it outlines steps to help yourself. Also when visualising then try to obtain pictures of what is going to be visualised and study them closely to become totally familiar with them. So if you're after visualising 'flaming' Pentegrams then try and get a hold of some pictures of them, if it's the Archangels of the four quarters then try and get pictures of them too so as it is totally clear in your own mind what they should look like. Hope this of some help.

I will be into my 5th month now and I feel things are starting to improve. My visualised pentagrams are getting pretty solid though they still break up, bits dissapear and they change colour alot. My mind still wanders especialy during my morning exercises but i just bring my mind back to the pentagram (I choose a pentagram as my concentration object). Trying to hard can be a hinderance. Try shortening the lenghth of time you spend visualising but do it more often. Any spare moment can be used for visualisation practice.
Learning to focus improves your willpower, intelect and the ability to perform Magick, as well as much free entertainment. Even though it wont feel like it sometimes every time you do it you will get better at it.
Best of Luck

Exactly the same as me when I started. Keep it up, it takes time but the results will come.
