Exactly the same as me when I started. Keep it up, it takes time but the results will come.

Hi Ricenpeas. Thanks for the friendly advice you gave me! I thought it would be easy as I daydream with no problem but I tried with a candle flame but my mind wanders away from what I want to visualize. As I said closing my eyes helps but its not ideal even then.

Hi Chris.
Visualisation is my weak point too. Yes, closing the eyes is a great way to learn. Some recomend turning your eyes upwards but i would recomend going with what is comfortable to begin with. Once you get the hang of it try it with your eyes open. Pick a spot in the air about 3/4 feet away and visualise an object. Remember we use all 5 senses when visualising so you will probably find you are better with some senses than with others. Just keep chipping away at it. It takes time and practice but its seriously worth it.
Visual Magick by Jan Fries, available from Mandrake of Oxford, and Fr. Sisto
Opening Gateways from the S.A. audio collection really helped me as did reading a bit of fiction and listening to Beethoven.
Hope That Helped

I am just starting to learn about magic and have a very simple question. I find it difficult to visualize but if I close my eyes this does help a little. Should this be done with the eyes open or closed? does it matter?

Hello
As a beginner I'm really starting to see results, which is great. But I seem to be developing a psychic sense with which i can tune into People around me sensing impressions about them. I've just recently realized I'm doing this almost all the time, it's causing me too feel vulnerable in public and starting to make me withdraw socially and become shy. My question is how can i control this gift more effectively and not feel swamped by others around me?
Great forum btw, very useful, It has helped me a lot.
Cheers
D.D.
[Infoburst: Welcome Douglas, Neophytes should realise that involvement in magic is both macrocosmic and microcosmic - everything you do and experience will be affected. It is par for the course for people experimenting with results-magic to find psychic sensitivities growing within them. Once your spirito-magical core has been 'activated' this is a natural evolution and will, eventually, be seen by you as a wonderful gift. At the moment it may perplex you but that's just because you were not mentally prepared for it. The strangeness will disappear in time as you come to learn to manipulate and direct the extra psychic feelings and Marabas's advice in this respect in all cases is to begin general magical development as integral with this are the skills and methods required to control and direct psychic energies. You can start with Grimoire of The Shadows by Frater Sisto - a complete audiocourse in gaining willed control over psychic energies. http://www.sorcerers-apprentice.co.uk/tapecass.htm In short, don't worry - you've achieved the beginning of something many others are trying hard for. Divination on spells
|
posted by Julie G
|
Hiya all, any suggestions on this topic please? I have been given conflicting opinions by 2 associates with more experience than myself so don't know which is true, my question is;
after performing a spell should you use divination to track its progress or let it go completely? one friend says yes you should use divination so you don't miss opportunites and he other says by using divination you 'draw it back to you' and stops the spell from developing properly. Do any of you have a theory on the use of divination after you have cast you spell or how long you should wait before scanning the progress? It would be interesting to hear your views and experiences.
[Infoburst: Hi Julie - the time to resort to divination is BEFORE you cast your spell not afterwards. Marabas teaches that success in magick relies on knowing the where and the when to apply your magic and so all initiates tend to use divination before any major magical working to get a perspective on the changes their proposed rite will create. Testing a spell with divination after it has been cast is simply an insult to the gods, alerts them to the fact that you have little faith in yourself or them and also may attenuate the magic because as one friend pointed out to you , each time you do it you are indoctrinating yourself with the reality that you do not have your wish so pushing the result you desire further away. You would only use divination after the cast to get perspective on why your magic has not worked. That is, realising your magic was applied incorrectly and reverting to what Marabas recommends at the start! Try again, persistence is the key. BB Denise W.]

PJ you do not seem to be reading my replies carefully enough. White cloth will not stop the magic, only black silk. You cannot simply throw a charged item away - you must keep it safe. That is one of the responsibilities of magic. This forum is not the place for identifiably specific queries on actual cases - you should email me directly and privately at the S.A. for any follow enquiries. BB Denise W.

Thanks Denise, I had removed all the links etc and cleansed and it is currently wrapped in white cotten but if it is of no further use can I just throw it away? Can I use the same white cotten to wrap new dolls of my partner and myself if I do the lovespell between us or will this cloth be contaminated by the previous spell?

[Infoburst: No PJ. You must not remould the doll or use any part of it for another person after it has been consecrated. Marabas teaches that magical force behaves somewhat like radioactivity and that although its 'half-life' may be equal to the time of its existence. I.E. If you consecrate the doll, change your mind and then de consecrate six months later the doll will by-and-large still work for six months after you dismantle it and then the astral image will begin to fade from then on. It never actually totally goes away because the astral link is qualitative not quantitative - hence there is always an astral link to it and if you re-use the material for someone else you can cause pecular effects between those two people. Wrap the dismantled doll in a black silk cloth
(see http://www.sorcerers-apprentice.co.uk/equiplst.htm and scroll down to Silk Squares ) This will stop the doll linking with the astral as black silk is a psychic insulator. Place away somewhere safe and forget it. Work on your existing relationship and strengthen it with various forms of love magic so that the relationship is stronger than it was before. Remember love is FELT, not rationalised. Don't let your guilt get in the way. Denise W.
