	Thanks for all the suggestions, I certainly will be looking into sorting this matter. Though all the same I very much doubt ever getting any trouble with having a ceremonial dagger I suppose the best way is to cover it before the worst happens Some great advice here - thanks Steve

	Hi Ste, In 1997 when the then new limitations on age occurred in the Offensive Weapons Act (driven by the killing of a London schoolmaster by an ex-pupil) The S.A. was once again the first and only esoteric suppliers to see the threat to working occultists and instigated the registration of magical knives and swords as religious implements, enabling genuine seekers to carry athames and swords purchased from us to group meetings and not break the law because they had a-priori evidence of it being a religious implement within the Act. To carry an existing handed-down or home-made athame legally will require several critera to be met to prove in a court of law that the knife is a-priori solely for religious use. The only advice we can give is that users should do this well before any possible situation arises - a photograph and a notarised declaration lodged with a solicitor would probably be sufficient. Puretongue's link gives a lot of useful background but religious knives are a special case which are not fully covered. The full background to the Act and the case of religious knives is contained in the S.A.'s legal leaflet which comes automatically with any knife/sword they sell. If you purchase a knife from anywhere else without this registration you are very much at risk. If you are thinking of making your own athame then you should go to www.sorcerers-apprentice.co.uk/occultls.htm and scroll down to Constructing Magical Knives, an OEXP written by Marabas which you can download instantly and which contains important details both initiated and lawful about how to construct your own magical knife or dagger. BB Denise W. P.S. American clients of the S.A. will be wondering what all the fuss is about. Seeing as how their right to carry firearms is enshrined within their constitution, possession of a knife seems very small beer.

	I know I know, it's a knife of the art But I've inherited Marcia's knife of the art, and was wondering with all the new knife law how I stand Now it's highly unlikely that I'm going to get pulled up with it, but if I do the Police will sure say "dagger". Any recommendations would be appreciated Thanks ste
