	On one note has marabas writen a oexp on how to shutdown the spychic scensor yet. [Denise Replies: Yes, wintersnake, regular use of the centering exercise of the Rosy Cross Rite does exactly that (see Marabas's OEXP034 on www.sorcerers-apprentice.co.uk/occultls.htm [ scroll down page to OEXP034]) along with this he always recommends hard physical work or exertion, avoidance of any music or TV (which can put the mind into a more sensitive alpha state). He says sleep is an amazing healer for this problem and the use of natural sleep-aids such as vervain and valerian should also be considered. Marabas has also penned a powerful self-exorcism rite (OEXP028 ) which he inaugurated in order to avoid people who had got themselves into deep psychic trouble, defaulting through lack of knowledge into the clutches of idiots in the clergy who might make matters worse (there are at least two occasions when so-called 'exorcism' by priests has resulted in someone being killed) and who knows how many have been pushed over the edge unnecessarily. 	Be carfull when talking to meterialist's about your exsperience and your occult interest's in the same conversation. Most the the time they will try to link the two together. And say that your missguided interest lead to your exsperience.

	Thanks for that RiceNpeas, Marabas teaches that the world of normality exists solely because of the functioning of the psychic censor which focuses our thoughts and reduces the multanimous input from other dimensions/worlds which permanently surround us. It is one of the main purposes of occultism to teach methods of removing and reinstating the psychic censor so that the magician or witch can enter and experience other worlds and realities. The Psychic censor can be removed in many ways other than by ritual method (stroke, violent shock, siezure, fit, physical accident, emotional breakdown or / and the use of drugs. Once the censor is removed there is indeed no 'map of self' remaining to which we can feel anchored and so we are vulnerable to multanimous astral input which sends the 'I' off into unfathomable experiences such as you describe. The key of course is to have some method of re-instating the psychic censor and thus 'normality'. Memories are permanently 'burned' into the senaptic tracks in the brain, ready for recall which often requires the stimulation of one or more of the senses (ie. perfumes, sounds, sights, symbols etc) which was associated with each memory. Hence the magician's use of perfumes, sounds, symbols. Once the psychic censor has been moved it is easier to move it again under will, and then it becomes a psychic 'gift' to achieve trance states and visions. Marabas says that the rise in 'mental illness' today are often a result of the no-holds-barred fantasy which the media expose us to. Yesod is the gateway to the astral world thus it is a small step for the consciousness to travel from horror on film to horror in the mind. Without the necessary conscious control over our emotions, ambitions and fears (which genuine occult systems teach) more people are loosing themselves in Yesod. 	I am straying from the beginners section here and have just started to PRACTICE Magick. I have been wanting to post for a while, but i try not to ask questions and can only offer a Neophytes experiences. so here goes. From my early teens to mid 20s i stuffed myself with physcodelics and heavy depressants. it did not work out to well but i have a lot of experiences to draw from. 1 of the most terrifing was the loss of all my refrence points. This is very hard to explain but i just did not KNOW. My brain then kick in trying despratly to make sense by naming the stuff around me. it focused on my hands and patheticaly named them tenticals in a hope it would brng sanity to to the situation. and fair play it did. This repeated for years sometimes whilst on mild/strong hallecagenics sometimes in the pots and pans world. once in my English class for long moment. Freaky. As i have got older the experience is almost gone unless i stare at my hand and think tenticals. then i get a little closer. Good Luck Ricenpeas
