Tony, nobody with any sense can disagree with the statement that we are subjectively involved in the cosmic cycle and that we are dependant upon it. These are just statements of fact, such as the one about Geography controlling History. Similarly the cosmic cycles create the ebb and flow of humankind's ambitions, passions and actions and perceptions. Life=Summer Death=winter etc. Thus will be represented similarly in disparate mythologies. Parallels in different mythologies denotes only that we are all human and respond to cosmic energies similarly. It is quite one thing to say this and another to associate with it the conclusion that all of this is as a result of a divine plan or progress. Entropy is the only thing which makes it all seem to be organised. Chaos frees up Entropy. There is no divine plan or system. True initiates should avoid becoming subjectively absorbed in their own hypothetical methods. Hermeticism explains the universe - it doesn't actually portray it. hi Tony, Im down with the Hermetic saying that All is Law, but these laws are part of a polarized system which springs from, and retains chaos as well as order.
The future is not certain more probable. Though astrology can tell us the fashions of the future, how they manifest can sometimes be a SURPRISE. The bias mind usualy ends up misinterpreting predictions through paranioa or desire. How to Make and Use a Magic Mirror is a great book that teaches a safe set of practices to help divine the future.

Throughout history mankinds calenders have been guided by the equinoxes and solstices, every messiah throughout history has been linked to the winter solstice and the death and rebirth of the Sun, world history is linked to our solar system, the laws thereof which are known to science, Hermetic Law teaches that all is Law, try a google on "The Kybalion", regards, Tony

Okay.
Death is not the end- agreed. But it is the end of the currently adopted personality and has extensive disturbing ramifications for the Ego-self which is the materialistic bound Self which interfaces with animalistic instincts and emotional drive which results in long-term paranoia bout the 'unanswerable question'.
Of course aeonic forces exist but they do not conform to any human calender. Marabas teaches that almost everything humankind does is a form of prophecy to alleviate this paranoia. From planning crops to classifying weather to computer profiling and algebra we try to make sense of the future by relating it to the past. There is nothing wrong with this except that it is illusion to consider it a reality.
Prophecy is a guide to probabilities not an elucidation of certainty. Millennialists (using the word for those who adhere to the idea of a divine plan or direction) think the universe works by clockwork and that is why they are often to be found sunbathing on the beach when the next sunami hits.
In short there are aeonic forces which create probabilities but there is no such thing as a cosmic law and believing in it is a self-deception which has confused humankind for millennia.

Hiya Denise, hope you're well, I wouldn't have described death as the end but a new beginning! the end of microcosmic man is but a doorway to a new era for the soul..imo..and past ages are known to astrology, why is it paranoid thinking???? Tony

Be careful Tony, your slip is showing.
Marabas teaches that Millennialism is the product of a paranoid mind which cannot subjectively come to terms with the inevitability of death and thus creates cosmic aeons to bring meaning or substance to the illusion of progress - just as humans tend to subconsciously create paternalistic or/and maternalistic gods in the form of mega-parents to care for their child-selves against the rigours and adversities of life.
The endless cycles of political conflict throughout history are simply a result of faulty individual ambition which the gods always use to manipulate human history. Their continual growth and demise indicates only the working out of catastrophe theory and does not reveal a divine plan or direction.
Those who hitch their wagon to a divine plan theory are usually the ones who consistently quote holy writ as some kind of authority to back it up.
Let's have some ORIGINAL thinking please! :-) BB Denise W

Pilate and Herod, East and the West, always recurring at it's best........Pilate and Herod were bitter enemies who united to defeat a common enemy Jesus of Nazareth, and the East and the West were bitter enemies who united to defeat a common enemy Hitler, this pattern recurrs throughout history and the end of an old age and beginning of a new age...........

The Mystical Qaballah was the starting period of my spiritual journey..I still remember the prayer I invented after reading it! "To the holy powers that be, I humbly ask of thee, to guide me, inspire me, lead me only to the light for the truth is eternal,Amen"".....that was 1993!!
