Thanks for link; Well O Well!
WOW! What I can only call the mindset, or psycho-spiritual objectives are the same as Thelema!
I would imagine that Crowley is out of the equation , to declare
C.o.S as an entirely different entity? Don't know.
I mentioned a magazine, writings of present day Thelemites, I'm not so sure you'd want it, now I've read C.o.S. Whatever;
Discovered statement that the magazine was withdrawn, after abuse.
I imagine stuff was being (sold?) published illegaly.
I'd actually imagine you're quite content where you are!
Best wishes.

Greetings All;
To those involved in writing this thread, indeed any readers, did
anyone else experience an unexpected effect from this work?
Actually, explanation may be an esoteric step too far.
Thanks.
Best to All.

Many thanks, Graham, I'm looking forward to this!
I doubt your treading on any toes, D.L. might be pleased that a genuine Thelemite wants to understand, perhaps a a time of fuller co-operation may occur. (If it seems fitting, I'll pop a token donation to C.o.S.) In this spirit of co-operation, I enjoy reading an Arizona based O.T.O. lodge magazine, they write articles, no books to download, no items to sell, they offer this free. I'm waiting for Frater Seahorse-catfish to come down from a mountain He's currently living on, to conclude a three part story; so far: Hitler's transmigratory beam has been tampered with , by those gosh darn
Lemurians, and He finds himself living in late 1800,s San Francisco, as a transvestite gay, which he considers,....well, I
have diffuculty understanding 'ordinary' humour, yet find this hilarious! Also potent esoteric truths are slipped in.
Only those of medium grade would understand, therefore persevere with the unique articles,No copyright/other issues with S.A., so I'll check with them, and give you the link. A favour for a favour,
if you will. Thanks again, enjoy your weekend, (or not, as you will!) Best wishes, D.

Satanic articles archive

Greetings D,
Link below to an online archive from Dark Lily magazine.
DL ran from 1987 to 1995(?) and was my own introduction
to Satanism. DL also provided the appendix on Satanism
for the SA's Occult Census. A very fresh and original
take on Satanism was always presented in the magazine.
Kind Regards, Graham.

ps. I have no way of knowing if DL consented to this online
archive and apologise if I'm treading on toes by posting the
link - G.

Greetings Graham, and thankyou. 'That, detective, was the right answer.' I understand. Some key words, now I shall expand; why?
Beyond this Graham, I have glanced at Lavey's work, performed
a core ritual, yet am missing something, I can't get the point,
seriously Brother, I have no issues with C.o.S. I want to understand, not understanding something annoys me.
I have written a brief outline of Thelemic structure on the A.Crowley thread, would you do me the honour, of describing able,
what you will concerning structure, aims and method.
I'm missing the point, Graham, and would appreciate, as perhaps many others would, a clarification of this system. Sincerely.D.

The New Teatament verse which is used to make Lucifer become
satan is Luke 10:18:
"I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven".
which corresponds to Isaiah 14, as cited by JK.
Lucifer was a Roman God, similar to the Greek Phospheros.
The first use of Lucifer in the Bible was in the Latin Vulgate
to translate Isaiah, as said. Previously no Christian identified
Lucifer as the devil. This translation started that, and the
New testament verse cited above was used to show that this was
the 'same' event in the OT and NT (!)
A question: If Jewish holy writ has no Lucifer, why do the Jewish
grimoires such as Abra-melin have him as one of the Four infernal
Princes ? This is the basis also of the four Elemental Princes
in Satanism where Lucifer = Air, the East, Enlightenment.

Bible and Magick

Hi ONU,
I don't have a set opinion on the Bible to be honest. I did
make it my New Years resolution in 2000 to read it right through
(Man, was that heavy going ! Took me 6 months though I had planned
to take 4). At the time I was a Church of Satan member and thought
it would be good to have some Bible knowledge. I really enjoyed it
as it led to study of many areas I wouldn't otherwise have gotten
into.
I know Marabas sometimes advises use of Psalms for example in Root
magic or Talismans. have you ever used such, or know of uses of
the Bible in Magick. I have a book I bought a long time ago but
shelved it at the time: Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses. (I will
start a new thread I think)Have you seen this or used it ?
Best regards, JK

Eostre/Ishtar

Hi Anonymous,
in answer to your comments re Saxon Goddess Eostre,
I think She is synonymous with Ishtar, as with Ostara and others.
In the musty academic literature on European Paganism, apparently
there is only mentioned once in Old English literature, and that was by the Christian scholar the Venerable Bede (679-735). In his work De Temporum Ratione, Bede says that April was called Eostremonath, due to the fact that the Heathen Anglo-Saxons worshipped and held ceremonies during that month in honour of Eostre.
The word Eostre was thought to mean East, making her a Goddess of the Dawn.
I am not an expert, just a curious seeker but I think Eostre which
was pronounced Easter, and Ishtar (also pronounced Easter) are
probably the same.
JK.

Good morning. I always thought the word 'Easter' was derived from the Saxon Goddess EOSTRE who is and was celebrated around the spring equinox.

Hi JK, you certainly know your Bible!
I have certainty in the existance of 'Infinite mind space' as I
mumbled it to myself for years, before reading 'The Magical Theory of The Universe.' This Infinite mind is concious, an Egyptian form: Nuit, or Nu. (Still half asleep, rambling a bit.) The concrete form
is Babalon; If you consider a sphere, the top half is Nuit,(The Queen of Heaven) the bottom part; Babalon, able to descend below the Abyss, to redeem.
A.Crowley is believed to have recieved transmissions from this Egyptian Trinity, Father, Mother, Child. (Personally, I believe this) The Goddess, Queen of Heaven says "To worship me, burn mine incense unto me under a night sky"(Approx.) Instruction on the preperation of 'cakes of light' is given. Any road up,
Must get to bank, get food.
There are a lot of connections, yet, why, is Lucifer portrayed as male, pointing to Adam Kadmon, with so many Goddess references?
Quite intrigueing, thanks for that JK.
Yes, I knew of the British oestre tradition, apparently there's more!
Best wishes. ONU.
