That was sensible, enjoyable good clean fun. Wow! I found an unexpected bonus after completing the Lucifer thread, too, mmm, too much for the browsing beginner, but Boy!

What an eye opener, I've found that what I can only call the mindset, or psycho-spiritual basis is identical to Thelema!
I'd imagine that Crowley is crushed to individuate C.o.S as entirely seperate entity.
I didn't study rituals, however, what an marvelous realisation!
The same principles of liberation/self realization!

I understand your concern, when the years ahesd are less than those behind. 35? Plenty of time; don't believe me, yet my viewpoint may be worth consideration. One has seen many things
profound. To my mind, in this, your 2nd(?) magickal projection
unto the malkuth worlds, the point of urgency is self realisation; communion with The H.G.A. It is necessary to achieve this level of conciousness, to partake in the Angels rapture, as concious.
Discipline, Devotion, ensures a pleasant ascent.
A nod's as good as a wink.......

Hello Draconuit, Yes Here I am !
I am not best placed to say what the CoS is or is not as I am
not a representative or Priest. There is a UK Priesthood/Grottos
who my like to comment or you could look at Dr.LaVey's article
on occultism of the past at www.churchofsatan.com
I am not content with any one path and my own evolution like that
of other Satanists I have known is to explore other areas. I can't
say I've ever felt there is a structure to Satanism, rather the
opposite: complete freedom to satisfy oneself by exploring all
options. I think this is quite 'Crowleyan' actually from the view
that he went beyond the GD and did his own thing gaining many
experiences in many paths.
Whereas I have great respect for Dr. LaVey I feel that many satan
-ists of whatever camp make the mistake of falling into a 'religion'
where if the guru criticizes Crowley, they all do likewise. I have
no respect for this unless they can back it up with their own
reasoning. Satanism is meant to be an alternative to herd mentality.
I think your problem with Satanism is probably mirrored in Satanist
-s who can't understand Crowley/Thelema. I think there is a trend
for both paths to have an interest in each other: Thelemites
seeking what may be of value in Satanism and Satanists who feel
Crowley was essentially satanic/LHP.
Of late I have taken an interest in divination and Sigil working
and looking to evolve psychically. I have also felt a real fear
of death in the last few years, now entering my mid thirties so
perhaps this is at the root of my 'spiritual' drive ? That feeling
of immortality or at least that death is ages away that one feels
at age 20 now seems long gone. Perhaps this has some correlation
to the Orthodox Jewish reason for not teaching Kabbalah to men under
40 or the Confucianists not allowing I-Ching study to under 50's ?

For me, age 12, i wanted to get out of a bubble i believed myself trapped in. Aged 15, I was released from bondage by Mine Holy Guardian Angel. Thereafter I would project-yesod, explore, etc.
Good fun.
Now here's a thing, previous lives. I experienced regression, as an unexpected petal of the rose, this was in Wales, as said.
Do you think that one examines one's own genetic-race memory,
selecting part's which suit one's current incarnation.
Or do you believe that past lives are factually true?
If factual, have some of us lived a previous esoteric lifetime?

simply can't see the point. I've outlined, as able, the Thelemic structure, in brief, on the A. Crowley thread. Would you be so kind as to explain the basic aims of C.o.S. please? I'm puzzled.

I was addicted to drugs trough my teens and into my early twenties and managed to turn it all around just over 7 years ago. Through my addiction i experienced many extremes of human nature in myself and in others which is swept under the carpet by society. Over the last 7 years i to have tryed to sweep it all this under the carpet and i had opted for the wide screen tv and smoothy maker. Its realy not enough so i have taken to the practice of Magick and i can firmly say i have never felt so confident and strong in all of my life. Ive heard my fair share of NAN in my time and none of it fits to what i have seen in the doorways of Kings Cross and therefor provides no solutions to me. I have chosen NoWay as my Way.
As a self appointed Novice i have found the S.A invaluble and has cut away so much of the fodder that packs most of the books aimed at beginers like myself. Thugh i appreciate using words to explain Magick is a pain in the pecker, M. and a few others have helped created a very accesable style that can be experienced by anyone with a positive attitude and persistance.
I suppose what i have learnt to date would be this. Perception is reality so i should learn how to look and not take it to seriously.

Greetings to all, and Hello again ONU, Nice idea and I hope maybe
some of the other regular names so far may make a little intro...
My occult journey started at the tender age of 13 when several
spontaneous psychic experiences led me to search the local and
school libraries for books on the paranormal. Started off with
Tarot cards and ouija board and formed a small group of serious
friends one who became Wiccan, the other a Chaos magician, haven't
seen them in many years now. A few years on I discovered the SA
and curiosity led me to Satanism as this was the time of the Satanic
Panic. Joined the Church of Satan at age 18 and formed a small
Satanist group for a while also exploring occultism in general.
Later studies led to a Buddhist phase, Asatru/Odinist phase,
and many other personal searches for what one might call the TRUTH.
At present I am very interested in Paganism, Chaos magic, Thelema,
and developing my psychic awareness with Tarot & I-Ching.
