Many thank you my friend Rex am feeling a lot better now an ready to prattle. John is a kind gentleman but when I am unwell and misbehave (over do it) he becomes a real tyrant my own fault of course.Anyway thought would tell you about Pumpkin she was the runt of the litter living on a farm just up the road to my bungalow My lat husband had bought her home and we took her to the vet to check her over he was always bringing home cats that were in trouble and they were all loved but the vet looked at this tiny bundle she is a waste of time give her 6 months thats all Frank just picked up the little one saying we'll see about that and we tookher home she died about 6 years ago never got any bigger used to sit in my hand a the great age of 20years.
Frank died in hospital in 1989 Brompton Hosp in London, so there was no way that animal could know but the night he died she went outside the house and refused to come in I had to feed her outside make her a littlehome in the greenhouse all through the bad weather she wouldnt come in. Then along came John and we married in six months and what happened in came Pumpkin to live indoors again
straight onto John's lap and she hooked him completely. She died peacefully in my arms we both howled and let Charlotte into our lives.
Another strange cat was Harold when I was on nights at hospital he was always waiting at the bus stop when I came home weird isnt it.
So Rex perhaps your cat is the same they are strange creatures though wonderful, no wonder the Egyptians worshipped them they surely had the right idea.
Take CAre all
RiceandPeas they can drive you to distraction I know

Howaya Anne, Rex. Its a sunny Irish day and im on top form. Ive rescude 2 cats from people who couldnt be bothered. 1 was a timmed kitten who had never been let out. Got him his injections, extended his bounderies and Bobs your uncle a few months later hes a tiger. Aaaaahh. Gave him away to a friend. The other was more a lesson for me. I grew up in a house full of cidar swiging crusties and aswell as many dogs there was an evil cat. It was never fed, never let out so shat everywhere. These were obviously contributing factors to why the cat was evil but that didnt prepare me for the heinous crime it was about to commit. One still and pleasent evening i was happily preparing a bit of dinner, whistling to the sound of stoners coughing, when the evil cat jumped up and nicked my stake. MY STAKE. Obviously i went on a 1 man crusaid and cought the unrepentant bugger, put both my hands round its neck and ........ No chance, couldnt do it. It just wasnt in me. A very strange feeling of having a life in your hands and i learnt alot about my own limitations. I catnaped the cat and gave him to someone who could shoe the Devil from him and as far as i know it led a good honest life after all. I never tolled the crusty girl what i had done nor will i ever. I have a dog now. Big stupid head on her.
All the best

I should also add that the old boy will just not live in the house.
I have tried but when his original owner passed away the next owner fed
him but didn't/wouldn't(?) take him in. Subsequently he is now fully an
outdoor cat though I do have a bed for him in the shed which he likes
complete with sheepskin rug.

Hello Ann,
Thank you for your invite to speak about my cat which I will:
I have an old Tom who has been visiting my back kitchen window
for many years, occasionally will come into the kitchen as I
leave the window open. He is a wise old fellow and was the
resident here two owners back previous to myself and never moved
on. I leave my shed door open so he always has a place of shelter.
So he's not really 'my cat' but we have a mutual fondness for
one another and I always enjoy his coming to the window for a feed
and a psychic chat.
All the best,
Rex.

I have a vsit from my dog(Rottie) who is in spirit together with my black cat Sweep. The animals we have now are very aware of them and will often stare at where they are but are not at all afraid which is good as I would hate for the spirit ones to have to be cleared. My husband always tells the dog what tie hes coming home and he gets up tp go t meet him at just the right time. He also knows when John is getting on the train at Weston Super Mare where he was visiting his mum as he becoes agitated at that time and wont settle properly until he arrives home.what great creatures they are
I hope someone else joins in this column Id hate to be the only star of this particular forum. My Baby cat is now sleeping with my expensive baby doll ade of porcelain lying in the moses basket resting her head on his tummy c'est la vie

Hi John thank you for your reply I do believe in the ability of cats to know what is happening and acting upon it.Our new cat is but a baby and full of play as the nets and blinds and the fish Lily will certify.
I did have a cat Harold who used to wait at the bus stop when I finished the night shift and walked up the road with me cannot explain it. Our dogs always know when their dad is due home even from Weston Super Mare when hes getting on the train weird but strange
Hope other folks join in and if anyone has any poetry about cats our Moggie Mag of CPL would be very happy to print no reward just the glory of being a funny little journal

Hi Ann,
Used to work for RSPCA long time ago and was always bringing
animals home so they could avoid the needle a bit longer !
I've had a good few cats but at present I have several small
dogs. I'm always amused at how many cats can freeze themselves
into seeming invisibility so my dogs will walk right past,
oblivious to their presence or even their smell.
My dogs can always sense when I'm due home from work and will
go to the bedroom window to get a view of the road, and I finish
at varying times so it's not a body-clock thing. They do the
same with my wife.
Regards,
John.
