Thanks for that, Michael, hadn't heard of it.
Might one ask, are you Lady Moonray's brother?
If so, where the hell are you! PLEASE get in touch, important!
Many thanks.

Thelemic Primer

As well as LM Duquette's Magick of Thelema there is also
Rodney Orpheus' Abrahadabra, recently reprinted, a guide
to starting solitary Thelemick Magick. He mentions working
with Marabas to develop Temple of Thelema incense.

L.M. DuQuette's works.

Greetings,
Lon Milo DuQuette, is a fine Thelemic interperator of Crowleys work. He's the first to say that some, will disagree with certain of his viewpoints, an open minded, wise Fellow.
I wish to alert the seeker to a gem, a book entitled 'The Magick of Thelema' By L.M. DuQuette: It contains the main rituals, (Copied into my B.o.S) with clear explanation. Printed in '93, if it's in print, S.A. will have it. An essential part of S.A.'s allure, they stock the most, mmm, hard to obtain books. This one's certainly a must for ones library!
Best to One and All.

Book of Thoth/L.M. Duquette's book

Hi Jim,
It's intended to be supplemental and a primer to the Book of Thoth
but not in any way to replace it. The author recommends reading the
Book of Thoth until it falls apart then buying a new copy ! In many
ways it is also a beginners book on Thelema explaining the Aeons
and deities etc rather than divination.
Best regards,
John.

Thanks to John and Samebody for your replies.
It is actually quite hard to even see the
squiggly 'embroidery'. Does SA sell Mr. Duquette's
book on the Thoth deck, is it simpler than the
Book of Thoth or just supplemental ?

A thousand apologies, my eyesight? Need fresh pack? Sorry.
Kinda touched a nerve, as the whole 418 formula may be said to revolve around Cheth, (cheth-yod-tau=418) the chariot.
Mr. DuQuette, tends to be right with details.
Glad that's cleared up, thanks.
All the best.

RE: Error/Abrahadabra Chariot card

Hello Jim Boyd & J. Same Body,
What Jim sees is not just his conception or a joke pack of cards,
and the answer if there is one is not to be found in the Book of
Thoth either. The Hebrew letter of the Chariot is Cheth which
spelled in full enumerates 418 as does Abrahadabra, but for some
reason Lady Harris in her correspondence with AC uses the word
Abracadabra (Harris to AC, May 11, 1941: "The alteration of
Abracadabra (Charioteer) and the Taurus disk card are complete..")
Also re Abrahadabra: "This word (with a slight Lady Harris TYPO)
can be seen EMBROIDERED in the canopy of the Chariot...")-
quotations from 'Understanding Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot'
by Lon Milo Duquette, an officer of the OTO.
Best to All,
John.

Hi Jim,
Neither abracadabra or abraca Cadabra appear on the 'banner'.
What you see/state is your conception, unless you have a joke pack of cards.
The genuine article: Thoth Tarot cards, including the little book, which answers your question,
and the Book of Thoth, are available from S.A. and are the genuine articles.
Good luck.

Thoth Tarot: 'AbraCadabra' & the Chariot
|
posted by Jim Boyd

Hello and Greetings,
Just ran across this forum and seen this thread on the magnificent THOTH
Tarot. A niggly point that's bugged me for years about this deck which I
truly love: Why is the word Abracadabra with a C in the middle instead of
the Thelemic H written on the banner of the Chariot Trump ? I used to think
it was a mistake by Harris overlooked by Crowley but wonder if there might
be a reason otherwise ? The decription in the Book of Thoth if memory serves
me right says Abrahadabra. Maybe some kind of Gematria reason ? Does Abraca
Cadabra ever appear anywhere else with a C in the volumes of Crowleyana ?
Cheers,
Jim.

The '22' meditation.

Of course, the 22 path/Trump meditation may be practiced at any time of the year, The day/night before a new moon, The Temple should be prepared: Day 1 The first meditation is on the 32nd path: The Universe; Tarot Trump;21 The corresponding writing in The Book of Thoth shold be read. So on in order, with The primary Banishing Ritual of the Lesser Pentagram each time, , rise through the 20th: The Aeon, etc. unto reaching 0, The fool.
This gives a comprehensive, colourful glimpse at the real Thelema. Having ascended, Why not do the next One, as descending the planes? Meditating on -The fool number 0-path 11, then The Magician-number 1- The High Priestess;2, The Empress; 3 etc.
reading as before. After reading, If you will, then relax in your most comfy asana, and visualise yourself moving toward the card, as
a door with a handle that only you can control. Open the Trump-door, and walk into the space within, closing door. Observe the lucid visions that do arise, describing the path. When the vision has finished, walk out of the Trumpdoor, illuminated, and visualise, your body, imagining the re-uniting of self and body you're mastery of the 'imagination worlds' is effective, though many aren't content with their visualisation skills, no matter, it works! as you're controlling it. This is a most valuable meditation, The physical outlay is nothing compared to the priceless forces/understanding etc. attainable. Results should be noted in one's Magickal Diary, for reference.
Serenity, Understanding, to One and All.
