Hannah no its not really a tree but its a way to describe it
If you manage to imagine a flat piece of line which dips down into a form of ditch and then up again until flat again
Much like a valley perhaps thats a bit better description of
1st grief bereavement down into depression anger then acceptance
Ive probably confuse you more but as my family always say thats the one thing Im really good at
Take Care Dear and Blessings

I hope you get to be happier just follow the tree of life as used in pyschiatry to let people see that when youre down the only way is up again anger depression hope acceptance its all there and works in time.Meditate listen to music I have one to play when my back is really bad its called Gentle Rain all it is is the sound of rain and birds another one is the sound of the sea just like soft angry
I think I may be waffling as the morphine has been highered
so will sign off now Many blessings and happy times

Dear Anne B.
Greetings, hope you're well.
The series you mention:- The Scarifiers, sounds a hoot!
I've found BBC 7, would you be so kind as to tell me, on
which day, at which time this series is broadcast?
Hope so!
Many thanks, in advance,

Confessions of Aleister Crowley

I'd recommend reading Crowley's own autobiography, or autohagiography (biography of a saint !) before any
other bio of the man. He is totally down to earth in it
and explains the bad press he got in a conversational
style. It is also a great look at all his adventures, not
only Magick, and often hilarious to boot (the haggis hunting
episode at Boleskine, etc). - Alex

Crowley, evil?

Hi,
No, I really don't think so. He actually had a very strong sense of humour: Unfortunately, He grossly overestimated the intelligence of the average man; so He'd crack a joke to the press, who didn't have a clue.....Whoops!
However 'There aint no such thing as bad publicity'. He ensured that His works remained remained in print, even if to vilify the man!
In His own words, as memory serves:-" I must weave a dark spiders web around myself." The 'web' is full of blinds, double, even quadruple meanings. To comprehend 'Thelemism' the Religion He founded,, One should have a grasp of Qabballah, Bhuddist-Hindu yoga techniques, and a knowledge of the procession of Egyptian Gods. I was at a loss as to the next stage, until I found Thelema, though I suspect it found me, was waiting, even! Why the scary facade? Firstly, to scare off the unworthy;' evil to him who sees evil'.
Further, if an evil man misunderstands His work, the blinds protect the sacred mysteries, (but not the evil man!) Lastly,(?) the earnest seeker must be brave, to fathom the truth of it all.
Crowley was a western occultist, very different to the Eastern mystic, though like so many occultists, his early years were mystic, to a degree.
The mystic attitude is 'life is sorrow, so I'll ignore it.' He sort of cuts himself off from the waist down, thereby validating the demon. He also dosn't care as to the nature of the phenomena he encounters, as long as he gets results.
The Western mind, explores his nature, accepting and transmuting it into as perfect a form as he can. He investigates, scientifically.- It might be pretty hard to get fun out of existance, but it's not impossible! I like 'Uncle Al's' comment concerning the mystic attitude as:-" Yah boo, foxes shall go brushless!."
He means that, treated sensibly, One can enjoy the beauty One is endowed with. I, for instance, do not deny the tendancies of my nature, locking them up in a cell in my subconcious; would they not fester and erupt someday? I try, to transmute my tendancies into a goodly form. If a part of my nature can be likened to a wild stallion, rather than build a fence against it, I train that nature into a good riding horse. One must distinguish, however, between One's personal tendancies, and those imprinted by events in One's life.
Crowley's 'wickedest man in the world' title, is pretty standard behaviour for a Blue Peter presenter, nowadays!
Well, I hope this gives some food for thought to some.

It is of no importance if these two men were lovers they are hardly the only people it makes no difference to the their ideals or practices. There is a very good book about Crowley (cant remember the title) where Crowley tells his tale, believe it or not is up to you He is a very interestin man as his tapes reveal. I listen to them quite a lot.Your take on him he leaves entirely up to you.
But there is also a brilliant series on BBC7 called the Scarifiers with Inspector Lionheart and Inspector Dunning,In it Aleister Crowley is hilarious completely off the wall.So perhaps the author of theselittle stories knew him quite well to take such a liberty
