Is a Black Brother only found in the LHP? My reading, not my experience tells me that RHP and LHP have the same goals but go about it a different way. They are both on a PATH to 0. Where as the seasoned Adept turned Black Brother (maybe through fear of nothingness), has retracted from there path.
Oyeah, what about Black Sisters, wheres the moral flogging for them?

[infoburst: Black Sisters - nice one ricenpeas ;-) . You've pointed out the inevitable hypocrisy which attaches to dualistic thinking. How black is black? Who has not done something in extremis which one now regrets? Pretending to be thoroughly holy or unholy is not really possible. Most satanists I know are animal-lovers (and I do not mean in a fricasee!). Many self-righteous people are anally retentive. There are a few truly evil people with criminal minds but who rarely have the intellect to become a black or even a white brother. BB Denise W]

Interesting V. Using LHP terminology, a Black Brother is an Adept who has reached Thaumiel and has finally decided that their goal is the Ultimate goal of the LHP-in a word, Seperation. And that is who a Thelemite refers to as a Black Brother?

Dear Wolfie; so it would seem;
Indeed, 'tis said of the Supernal Region; that for a thing to exist; it contain its own complimentary opposite within itself.
Therefore; to perform The Rituals/Formulae correctly;One does 'burn off' remaining Human karma; as One does inherit Universal Karma!
Much is said of this region as most desirable;
and, noting V's previous comment, this makes a mockery of Good' and 'Evil' concepts---
for there; these are merely terms to describe below Abyss phenomena.
Of The Black Brother: He may thrive awhile; but with The entire inertia of The Universe against him, his tower does crumble;
that He becomes as 'An eater of dung, in The Day of 'Be With Us''
That day being, when, The Universe has expanded to its max. potential; it does then contract, We; Gods, Angels, Spirits-ALL
ascending as One; into a period of Pralaya; The night of The Gods, whilst the black brothers remains are strewn across The Abyss.
Then---After seven eternities, say The Secret Doctrines; a New
Universe is created: The breathing out, of Brahma.
Just a thought; May it be of interest.
Happy days, Magick Brothers/Sisters.

Dear denise;
I understand your comments.
I did wander into this site; due to an reference within a Thelemic channel.
Not realising there are many beginners here; V now feels morally
obliged to express His personal viewpoint; to clarify.
One may use Sorcery to win love etc. using The Four quarters;
This must lead to The Understanding of The 5th 'element':-spirit;
The pinnacle of The pentagram; that which governs and binds The four.
That One may embark on The journey to Self discovery; as an Adept:
having achieved union with Ones 'Holy guardian Angel'; The higher
self; The atman; The true soul, which is as a Star; with the
background of infinity; A lifetime well spent.
The Xstians regard this as Godhead-The nazarene myth only takes
us to Tiphareth, however.
The New age current, does allow access to The supernal Region:
The Adept Exemplis; does often become a great teacher;
E.G. McGregor Mathers; today Lon milo DuQuette; are such Adeptii.
However; some are destined to enter 'The Abyss'; where they do
gestate-emerging above the Abyss; unto Supernal Conciousness.
Rare are these few, There are those, who, realising this stage
of evolution destroys The ego-self, deny the Holy plan, and
build towers against The Powers of The supernals; retaining their
earthly powers; which are notable.
( As, is, for example, The vatican.)
These damned, potent Magicians, are The Black brothers.
They have been given The Ultimate choice;
and through weakness or intent, fallen to The dark side.
There is simply no relationship between these fellows,
and The Sorcerer.
V hopes that clears up the matter; though He had no intention of revealing such; on a beginers site.
Perhaps Denise can decide whether it should remain...
With Best wishes;
V.

Me too Wolfie, Valazebeck seems to be contradicting himself and we are back again to the dualistic nature of human thinking which always raises its ugly head in debates about the left hand path. Obviously what Valazebeck thinks the term Black Brother means is completely different to what you and I think it means and for him there appears to be a strong moral objection. Perhaps he would enlighten us a little on what that is and, purely in the interests of debate you understand, whether he thinks Hitler would have become the archetype of evil he so readily accepts if Germany had won the war instead of losing it? Churchill in contradistinction is the epitome of the National Hero but we won't mention the fact that he ordered the gassing of tens of thousands of Kurds after the first world war (including innocent women and children) - just in case we confuse one with the other! A proper discussion of negative and positive magic should go beyond the moral snares of personal and public opinion into the technicalities of magical operations if it is to be worth anything at all. What does Valazebek think the technical differences are?

I've heard the term 'black brother' but don't know it's meaning. Care to share? Also I'd be interested to know why you liken black magicians to petty thieves?

V did startle at -'The Sorcerer and Black Brother' in the same
sentence!
V does gather that, perhaps most ignorantly; that The Sorcerer; Being a king of The earth; Does use Natural Magic to satisfy The needs of any Being; as a King; a Kingdom;; and the delights which
The Magickal life provides.
The Thelemite; uses a series of formulae; to desired ends.
Both Thelemite Adept and Adept Socerer find The Same thing;
be it at The Highest; or lowest---Themselves.
The path of 'Black Magick' is a real thing; be it Thelemite, or of Sorcery.
However; to compare a sorcerer,to a Black Brother; is absurd!
to compare a black magician; to a Black brother; would be like comparing a sneak thief, with a Hitler type!
Magick is exciting! Ultimately; You form Your own brand of 'Music' having listened to many pieces; That is: of Your personal
Moral structure.
Such is an opinion;
