Hi John, Now we have to be careful here because Cook is indemnified by powerful media cartels and on past form will demand any criticism of him be censored at any cost and we don't want him to kill off this forum do we? The outcome was that Cook was made to look like a pompous bully. Chris Bray accidentally bumped into Cook at Malaga airport, - turned the tables and 'doorstepped' him (the final irony for Cook).
Chris took a photo to prove it and even had the gall to get Cookie to autograph a serviette before revealing who he was. Cookie had been made to look a fool and did not respond well but we can't tell you what happened because when we put an interview with Chris Bray about the meeting on our web-pages, Cook demanded that big-bucks lawyers at Granada TV threaten both Chris and the SAFF with legal action. They actually said they would bring an action for breaching Cook's rights to privacy under the British Human Rights Act! An unbelievable piece of snot from someone who made a fortune poking his nose into other people's private lives!
Anyway Chris told him to piss off but Granada had already contacted the Information Providers for the original SAFF website who didn't even bother to ask us and just axed the SAFF site! Naturally we opened up a new site but time is always at a premium and we have
much work to do and can't keep wasting time with this dolt, hence the censored page and the offer to send a printed copy of the original version to anyone who has an interest (Cookie can't censor the post - yet!).
Interestingly, in his latest book More Dangerous Ground Cook was worried enough to devote a whole chapter to his version of the meeting with Chris Bray and, appart from incorporating some strange inferences that Chris Bray is an agent provocateur for a conspiracy by Cook's enemies in the British Media (sorry?), his take
on the meeting is, as you might expect, utterly opposed in every respect what Chris said really happened. Again, even after the Broadcasting Complaints Commission publicly castigated Cook for being unfair to Chris Bray, and after the definitive government report on SRA by Professor La Fontaine said that it was all a figment of the imaginations of fundamentalist Christians, over-eager social workers, and even after all these years Cook STILL dishonourably tries to smear Chris with those same untrue allegations. By their actions shall ye judge them.
