When I saw the Anglicans trying to link Samhain with child harm on their website, and by implication painting those who celebrate the festival with child abuse, I was floored.
Occasionally I awake with nightmares - I'm reliving a childhood terror. My Church of England Junior school took a school party to visit a church. I'd recently had death brought into my life for the first time by my Grandfather's passing. Still trying to recover from this frightening event, I, with the rest of my class, was forced to sit in a side chapel at church, staring at a grey stone carving of human skulls with serpents slithering through them. Whilst mortified by this image, we were told how we were inherently evil, and that our only hope in the long term was to keep Jesus pleased with us.
No message of love, no hope (unless you were really good, we were told - but then, we were reminded, given the way the world was set up in original sin, we were quite likely to fail), we were miserable kids whose only worth was provided by someone else - God.
Now, 40 years on, I still wake at night with the image of those skulls in my mind, bleak and terrifying.
I feel some runes coming on*
* Fundamentalists - this last bit - about the runes - is just a joke. It was only a film (or short story depending how educated you are).

The following remarks are off the PF site and by one of their interfaith officers ‘Robin Herne’.
“Interfaith can be a contentious subject, on the one hand why talk to people who do not understand us and may be very against us? On the other hand surely by communicating with members of other faiths we generate understanding and better communication. This is the type of communication the world needs to prevent wars based on religious differences, so surely to start in our own small way is to help build a better world?”
This is the sort of incredible naivety over the interfaith issue that the PF are suffering from today and why they represent no one but themselves.
Herne ASKS:

The fundamentalists he wants to put paganism in bed with in fact “understand” more about his advocated pagan faith than he does. Can anyone be so inexperienced? The Church has been studying paganism, like a trapped bug under a microscope, for centuries and PF naively (as displayed admirably by Mr Herne and chums down at the little ‘ol PF) will not stop this from developing farther now. In fact the recent CofE assault against pagans this Samhain proves that Herne is not only wasting time seeking to be ‘nice’ to the Church honchos but also giving them more ammo to use against us when the time is right. Of course this dangerous and very child-like PF attitude is nothing new for a while back another of their interfaith officers – a woman called ‘Nowlan’ sent children, that have been involved in alleged “Satanic ritual,” to one Rietta Everton. This woman was Col Jonker’s (ritual abuse ‘Expert’ and notorious ‘God Cop’ ) fellow evangelical operative and deputy policewoman. Apparently Nowlan said that Everton is a most “helpful woman”.
Jonkers and Everton were big time African fundies instrumental in whipping up a great deal of Satanic hysteria. I think they also worked with UK police over the Thames Torso case a while back
Nice of the PF to help SRAM along eh!

Oh too bloody well right mate. The PF clowns sat around whilst the real pagans and occultist at the SAFF got on with fighting the SRAM which was started by radical nutters at Reachout etc last time around. No way will these smug little plastics ever lift a finger to help any effective anti-SRAM stategy. Whilst the church fathers have been planning their attack this Halloween the numb lumps at the PF HQ have got this farce into gear.........

How true what you state about the PF. They have for years acted like naive children over interfaith FREELY allowing fundamentalist to invade the old religion. The last CofE clerical mole (who was smiling at the PF and supposedly studying Wicca etc)Rev THOMAS TURNED OUT TO BE A PERVO WHO was later done for collecting kiddies pics no less. The PF seems to amble through life with their heads largely in the sand. This is a great shame as such an organisation could be very effective if it bothered to listen to SAFF as it had done in the past. Yes, the PF once worked well with SAFF before the new fluffy, plastic pagan Interfaith coterie, under Jennings, corrupted it. The PF has become a dumping ground for 'wannabe' pagans who are in fact ‘Christian’ through and though. The last episode with the terminally silly Jennings proved that so well when he was daft enough to start chucking with weight around on a forum against SAFF and SA. Silly person!
The bumbling PF muppets will of course not understand what is happening now with the Manchester Diocese Halloween hate crusade against us but there you go - that is just the fluffy bunny nature of things.
If the CofE do manage to start off more SRA cases via this latest insult against paganism what will the PF luvvies do - invite Doc Williams to an interfaith tea party/ They are so pathetic and have NO RIGHT WHATSOEVER TO CALL THEMSELVES A FEDERATION WHICH REPRESENTS PAGANS.

Hi there, I am a regular user of pagan forums on the net and was shocked to discover that the Church of England has just put its weight behind an evangelical campaign to ban Halloween. Problem is that so few pagans are aware of it. We have of course become inured with the usual yearly opinionating by vicars in the local press but this is something much more dangerous. The CofE has sanctioned religious persecution and given the green light to evangelist extremists. You can see the tone if you read the Telegraph report on it at
