I am out at work, in fact lissa who just posted that message is my girlfriend who i have been with for two years, I have always been out at the work place. I feel no reason to hide my sexual orientation, I don't go around telling everyone that i am gay but if asked there is no reason for me to hide my feelings. I think that everybody has different circumstances when it comes to a topic such as this one. Some people to give a crap and some people it scares the piss out them. I think that it all depends on the situation.

My situation is wierd, I work with my ex-husband, his new wife, and my girlfriend. It's not something I flunt, but my close co-workers (including my direct boss) know.

I am out at work and have been at every job that I have had since college (about 10 years). It is just easier. I have my partners information for emergency contact and I have the relationship noted as "spouse". I think it just makes things easier. I haven't had a problem, but I know people who have.

I'm not exactly out but I'm not hiding it at all--if someone asks, I'll tell. There have been people who have figured it out in the past but never really came right out and said anything. At my previous job, I did put my ex's information down on the paper work that I filled out and the relationship of "domestic partner" and I talked about my "roommate" and wore a ring. Of course the guys I worked with were a little clueless when my "roommate" moved out and I was rather bitchy at work--most didn't put two and two together:-)

Are you out at work? Do you hide your sexual oriantation in the workplace, or when you apply for a job? Have you been fired from a job for being gay before?
