Immorality is addressed in the whole of the bible. Same sex pleasuring is just one aspect of that immorality and must be considered with every sin that goes against the wishes of the Creator. Playing ping pong with words and views that have solid meanings and roots just leads to confusion which is the aim of the change agent mentality. One's attitude's worthiness is for God to judge. That is between the Creator and each of his creations. Some are comfortable and secure in relationship with Him in study of His Word and look forward to eternity with hope and joy. Procreation is the reason we are here..."be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth" from the Genesis record.
Life is not that complicated. We are subject to gravity, need air to breathe, food to to be mobile, light of some kind to illuminate our path. Our spiritual path also needs illumination.
All of this is a moot contention as we and all thinking persons in all cultures know basic sex. It is so basic and natural that no one needs to be tutored. Mock sex is just imitation.
If you are alive and can read this then thank a heterosexual sperm/egg combination that in most cases resulted from a normal sexual event.
Have a good life...I have to get back to class.

Yes, you said that you didn't agree with my statement about there only being 6 passages in the bible with regards to homosexuality (which I later amended to only 3 and provided a web site that mentioned the rest that are used to condemn homosexuality). You said "maybe" 60 or 600 but have yet to provide any that are not already mentioned in my post or on the web site I listed (the Judges passages basically mirrors Genesis). Just how well do you know your Bible if you can make that sort of "claim" and not be able to back it up?

You say that you're not a fundamentalist but yet it seems like you like to use the Bible and your religious viewpoints to judge others (that's something that the religious "right" likes to accuse more liberal-minded people--of bending things to suit their purpose, yet it would appear that you're doing the same. . .) What makes you think that your attitude is "more worthy" in God's eyes than someone who is more accepting of people?

Perhaps the APA has a vested interest in helping people at 150.00 to 350.00 per hour. I would suggest your hair dresser or barber has a better grasp on life than those trained by those trained by those who change their criteria with the whim of public or professional opinion...and you will look better to!

A quote from Narth.com that put focus on your perspective.
"The individual has the right to choose whether he or she will accept a gay identity. It is his or her choice, not that of an ideologically driven interest group. To discourage a psychotherapist from undertaking a client wishing to convert is anti-research, anti-scholarship, and antithetical to the quest for truth."
-------------Spoken at the 2004 NARTH Conference by Robert Perloff, Ph.D., past-President of the American Psychological Association
Hang in there and find the truth.

everyone judges to some extent. its just the ones that go so far to actually hate or discriminate against that person or persons. like...you dont wear a certain type of clothes, or you dont have the nice car, you dont live in the right neighborhood, your a little to short, or your a little to fat...i mean, society puts so much weight on people. i mean, i can understand why so many people are depressed. its because we are all brought up in this image, that we have to fulfill to make everyone happy, and when people see a imperfection, a DIFFERENCE, it scares them, because people dont like change, and their reaction is hate, and cruelty. if we would all just learn to accept and love and care for everyone, and all of Gods marvelous creations, then maybe the world could be a better place, and maybe we could raise a better generation, a more open generation. i see it more and more every day...people who like things that most people dont, but they admit to liking it (ex. a band or clothes or something) and they aren't ashamed of it. =] now if we could just expand that open-ness and acceptance to bigger things, such as homosexuality...well...im losing my train of thought and completely zoning out, so i will be back on tomorrow, goodnight.

Sorry that I did not spelcheck the last post. I am just a hick from the sticks and my spelchecker is a crutch that is essential!
I am of a group roughly placed into the term "Bereans" and we have a wide range of understanding of the Holy Writ from "universal reconciliation" to the belief of home churches, rejection of Sunday as a sole Holy day, no water baptism and that the Lord's supper is for Israel and is the passover meal. Some of us do not believe in paying preachers but believe that all believers are "the priesthood". I agree with some (not all) on the website believer.com .Thank you for your polite and informed debate. I hope we can both become closer to our Creator and that our rhetoric will help not only us but other searchers for truth. More later...us older folk must get our sleep...thank you.

I put all imorality (from my viewpoint) in one catagory. That would include every lust outside marriage between a man and a woman. Here is my original statement

"No I would not agree that there are only six...maybe sixty or six hundred examples and they are not off based. Every person that I ever met know what is moral and what is not. As I look around me I see nature using natural means to continue the species. My pets know. The animals that prowl the woods know. I know. God knows."

I have read your statement about what is condemend in the bible in your words and in the glbt media and you make very good points about in concluding that in this day and time the total list is not for today but meant for another day and time...specificly it is meant for ancient Israel.
I am not a fundamentalist and my persuasion believes that most of the rules in the Old Testement were for Israel and not us Gentiles. We believe that Paul brought new thoughts to us and as he and Peter agreed there were only three comandmengts that Gentiles coverts were " required" to keep and it is interesting that in the adultry Gentile commandment they say that "We are to abstain from "fornication" and that holds more grace than "Thou shalt not"
...more next post

Kaci, the God you believe in sounds like the God I believe in. God created all of us so different and you're right, He doesn't make mistakes. One has to wonder why some people feel the need to judge the differences found in God's creations instead of embracing the differences and trying to learn more about God through the differences.

Surely you don't believe that the studies were run by LGBT scientists? That sounds a bit paranoid, if you ask me. If the studies were LGBT biased, how come a Christian "right" scientist has yet to disprove what has been discovered?

Yes, I know about black and white in terms of computer colors--I've been using computers for over 20 years and majored in computer science in college. The gray that I was referring to is the fact that the world doesn't operate in terms of black and white--there are many shades of gray and the Bible itself offers many shades of gray. For example, one of the commandments CLEARY states thou shalt not kill but yet killing in self defense and war is "okay." A gray area? You bet. But yet fundamentalists like yourself tend not to see things that way.
