So, if I'm understanding you correctly, you are new to the gay scene. And with your profession, not gay friendly, and with taking care of your grandmother, you would like to talk to gay women without hiding. Maybe someone between 35 and 60...is that right? I find it hard to meet women too! There's a gap for those of us in this group, making it extremely hard to meet lesbians and it can be very lonely. You'd like to be able to communicate freely/openly with other gay women? Is that it in a nutshell. I am game to talk to you......I'm from Oklahoma, but lived in CA for about 17 years. I've been back here about 5 years and I'll never get used to it again. Being in the closet so-to-speak and not being able to know who is and isn't gay because everyone is so closeted....is very difficult. Especially when you've always been OUT and OK with yourself but out here it's hard to be OUT and yourself without alot of JUDGMENT! I've not made any gay friends here myself.........because in CA I was totally out and had alot of straight friends!! Had a hard time making good lesbian or gay friends even out there!!!!! I don't know why???? So, it's extremely difficult out here. I've tried and it's like they all have their friends and really aren't interested in making any new ones, just a new love. But I'd like to get to know someone as a friend before jumping into bed and making a life with them....isn't that healty and going about it the right way? I don't know......I'd be interested in talking with you. So, if you're up for being open and honest with a true lesbian....age 48, then I hope to hear back from you. I know what you're going through is difficult. Anyway....contact me....I'd like to meet new friend(s).

Check out the okclesbian yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/okclesbian/. There's a lot of the women in there are in their late 30's/early to mid 40's as well as some older and some younger, some singles and some couples. We have get togethers like music jam sessions, themed parties, dinners, etc. And of course there's the monthly Lez Eat at Gusher's and we just celebrated 2 years of this awesome monthly supper club (next Lez Eat is Sunday, February 22nd, 5:30 p.m. at Gusher's.)

Hi, I am a recently 40 year old out gay woman. I have watched recent posts at different sites and have notice that either the participants are very young (most) or over 60. I would love love to have an email pen pal around my age just to pass some late night conversation or emails back and forth. I do have a great group of friends, but I hardly ever get to see them due to my work schedule and my elderly grandmother (I am her caretaker). Due to my gay unfriendly workplace, I am unable to be out at my profession. Sometimes it just gets lonely without any adults to talk to without any cover or dishonesty. Any takers?
