Hey Len:
Got licenses (SCCA/BMWCCA/NASA), sent my package to Lindsey last week for FPR.

I am trying to work it out to be there. I would have to come home for Sat night, then come back down on Sun morning. I am hoping that someone will drive down to crew for me Sat, hitch a ride home Sat nite with them, then have the wife drive me back down Sun morning. I would do all the driving myself, but I dont think I can handle six hours of driving per day (in a diesel)not including track time.

Speaking of gearing, I could use help with ratio's for Shenandoh (and Pocono South). I just got my Taylor tool today, so I am itching to go a gear a changin.

OK - So now, if I can get the car done, get the belts issue addressed (Car needs unexpired belts, but there are no belt mounts, so need welding work any gear suggestions for this track? I'm opening up the gearbox this weekend.

Tony: So Len talked you into it? I'll be damned if I've just going to give away those rookie points.

I originially told Len we were a definate NO for Summitt, with the addition of the testing date, we are considering it.

If the car comes together on-time and work schedule does not interfer, the 93/95 FC Citation taht we refer to as "B**bs" may make this event. Right now it looks likes 50/50.

Car may be primer grey, no diffusser, no rear bodywork, no adj Antisway.

Big key for us is the addition of new belts> This will require the services of Mr. Slowick to do some welding. I'm not putting wrap-around belts back into this car.

Tony,
1- post race schedule on Fridge, larger than any of the kids drawings.
2- send copy to all family, inlaws and outlaws, expressing your shear delight in having them attend.
3- send wife to Vegas [really cheap now] offer to go along but suggest "she take some wife time as a reward for all she does".
4- advise all that you suffer from Tinitus [severe ringing in the ears] and can often not hear clearly.
See You April 22 & 23rd

Tony: I keep trying to tell wife taht there is a uncurable viris floating around that causes race drivers to totally forget "In-Law" related committments. I got hit by this bug, several times last year and feel I'm due for a relapse soon.

I am trying to make it to Summit. I was not going to, but Len talked me into it. Now I may have to back out because of a family thing that Sat night (that I previously committed to, which I forgot. I tend to do that with the in-laws). I am trying to work around it.

Just got back from 1600 mile road trip to Indy & back. What a trip... We picked up the car yesterday at ICP where it was built (Temp was 2 dergrees with windchill of 10 below). I couple hrs later we were at the Indy 500 Measumn (Promised I only looked at pre-IRL exhibits) and took devevery of the spares package in the parking lot.

She needs a bit of TLC, but looking forward to working in her and racing her.

Rookie challange, here we come..

I may just rent your back up car, I will need a liitle coaching, Ambrose has a couple more years
of track time. For a rookie challenge, there has
to be at least 3 rookie cars, you would have to
finish in the top 66% of the field.(no freebees)
That will push rookies to be competive !!!!!!!

Phil Jr is pumped,he had a great time at LRP with all you guys (first drive in anything)but racing is not a gift to him. He has to contribute. His car doubles as a rental which he can apply to offset cost.As well as summer lifeguarding. hmmmm just had a thought.....Team Tactics....hmmmm interesting.... :)

This sounds like a great idea! If we , indeed, have a group of 4-5 "rookies" I will work out the details for a "series within..." and award a trophy for "rookie of the year", etc. I'll see if any of our sponsors want to throw something in.

I'd be open to anything, but at the end of the day, racing is about performance and the biggest part of awarding a "cup" should be based on that. We won't be doing all the races, but if ther is a Rookie points title that I am running for maybe I can squeeze and event or 2 more out of my budget. That's what the club needs to grow, everyone squeezing an event or two per season. Participation generates Participation and I see this competion within a competition as a way to incentivize participation.

In a about a month, I'll be cutting decals for may car. Wiht the decal order, I can have 4 or 5 small decals cut for Lindsey for distribution/display on the crs confending for this honour. What do you think the decals would say? Let me know.

Lindsey: What do you think iof this idea? I am trying to spice up the intrest level amoung the Rookies for 2006.

Maybe Lindsey can ad a "Rookie of the Year" Trophy. Voted on by the FPR Membership. Wouldn't just be a points thing for those who might not make a whole season. For consideration could be Qualifying position V's Finish, whos shown most improvement and best represents the FPRS image.
2 cents

Cool - looks like 3 (Ambrose, Pockets, Anthony)of us so far. I just had a converstion with a FF Veteren who, if he finds the the right car at the right price is looking to step up to a winged car.

So there is the matter of a friendly little side wager... anyone have any ideas?... Just a little end of season incentive to keep us incentivized to make as many of the dates as possible and perform as stongly as possible.

just like Ambrose, ZERO seat time in a FC car (zero seat time in an open wheel car- tin top convert).

Just wondering who the FC rookies will be running the 2006 season. Speak up...

Ambrose Buldo Here
Bergen Co, NJ
Citiation '93/95 - FC - #27
Track time in FC - Zero, Zippo, Nada... Never even sat in one.

Maybe we could organize a little points battle within a points battle amoung ourselves. I'd be open for a fun little side bet.

Lindsey: What do you think? Maybe designating who the Rookies are at the begining of a season and at the end of the season declaring "Top Scoring Rookie". May make it a little more intresting for us quasi-virgins.
