The purpose of the scales is to provide some type of self-examination of our series to assure all that we are racing legal minimun weight cars. It is not being used to"catch" anyone as we operate on the premise that everyone is legal until proven otherwise.
The top 5 cars will be checked after the race but anyone can check his/her car during the course of the day. Technically, someone could have a "light" car during qualifying and then a legal weight for the race; but we are not looking for this level of scrutiny, at this time.
As FPR is a somewhat democratic organization, if the majority want to change or alter any arrangements I am open to recommendations.

i heard you got yourself a new ride....do tell!!
i am fairly sure you can be pulled at anytime during the race weekend to be weighed, my comment was that the scales are avilable the entire weekend.
i dont imagine this is going to beomce a major problem, in fact i look forward to seeing these changes to keep all fair
see you all at the track

Sounds like SCCA to me. I hope this isn't followed by the rest of the BS that many of us are trying to get away from.

I'm just saying that the threat of getting scaled needs to exist in qulifying as well as in the race.
Having the scales availaible before hand would be great we could calibrate against our own scales...

ambrose,
my understanding is scales will be avilable before race so that competitors can varify for themselves the weight before it becomes an issue
hope that helps

Min weight, no problem as long as you don't have a max wight rule compliance should not be a problem. Actually, we are hoping with the new car to for once be close to the min Wt #.
You stated above you could be pulled to the scales after race, but I assume the you could be scaled after quilifying as well. Correct?

FPR is growing and as a result it is important to maintain a level of inspection and compliance with certain basic rules, as outlined in the SCCA Club Racing Formula Car Rules.
Starting this season ,at certain tracks, FPR will have scales setup to check minimum car weight as the cars come off track after a race.
We will use the following minimum weight, with driver, as our guide:
FC - 1190 lbs.
FF, CF - (Kent) 1100 lbs.
(original) 1050 lbs.
FA - 1265 lbs.
