Bell will award a new helmet to the winner in FC1 and FF . I'm not sure how far they will go with the smaller classes like FC2 or FA. I will have to ask them at the end of the season.

Re: "Champ gets a new Bell Helmet".
Is that the FC1 and FC2 and FF Champs, or just one Helmet ?

I agree that Points is Points and the highest scoring rookie "be da Champ".
An FPR Rookie: No prior Formula Car Experience.
Identification: Mainly a way for Seasoned drivers to identify Rookies: Maybe just a FPR sticker on/in the middle/back of the rear wing. That way they will also be able to identify each other while on the track.

I agree the rookie challange should not have a seperate point tally... At end of season Rookie with most points wins the challage.

As for who is rookie, I'd say 1 event or less in a winged car (So if you did a 3 day skippy or roos school you's still quilify)... that quilifies me.

Yes - some sort of decal or sticker would be great. If someone comes up with the verbiage, colour and sixe, I'd volenteer to make them up.

We started B**bs tonight, first time engine has run in 4 years. We have car on trailer, tuned, w/Nascar Alignment Job, gonna shake it down this weekend, gonna shake the rust off me too.

See you guys at the track in a couple weeks...

The race champ also gets a new helmet from Bell but I don't they have an XXXXXL size to fit Len's head!

Len, since you haven't raced this year, you should also be eligable for the rookie challange. You better get all your decals on this year! I let you slide last year without holloring about it, but rules is rules and the rules say you have to have them on. See you in the winner's cirle for the rest of your speech.

not that it matters much to me as i don't qualify for this, but i think points should be awarded as one group, meaning no separate scoring for them. they are in the race, they get scored on how they finish, highest points earned wins said "rookie challenge" at the end of the year. yes they should all have something to identify themselves maybe a little " FPR RC 06 " sticker or fastest of the slow guys sticker...LOL, sorry, just had to do it!

my questions is who is a rookie? someone who has never been in any race car? we have one of them this year. some one who has never driven a formula car and has no race license? we have one of them, some one who has never driven a formula car but has raced a tin top? we have one of those. how about someone who has raced and is fairly experienced in a smaller formula? we have one of them as well. Now all of these are rookies in FC , but certainly varying degree of "rookie" going on in this scenario. either way, good luck to all those involved, i look forward to this season. i want to thank my mechanic, crew, corner workers, sponsors...oh ahh, must be getting a little ahead of myself there, sorry

tune in in a few weeks for the rest of the speech...

I am open to suggestions from Rookies in all classes and experienced drivers: should the rookies be scored , in addition,on a seperate score sheet based on rookie status? what is a rookie? never raced before in Formula cars or never raced in the class they will be entering?
Should Rookie cars be identified as such with a special marking?
send in your ideas

Lindsey, Thanks for all you do for us.
Have you had any time to think about how a Rookie Challange will be scored or how the Rookies will be Identified.

The scoring for our races will be as follows:
points for each place- same as EMRA
1 point for pole , 1 point for attending race but earning no points , no points for fastest lap or most laps led.
There are 12 races on the schedule and your best 10 out of 12 will be used to score year end standings
you must be a current FPR member to earn points and use sponsor discounts.
