What I thought... the response in the Carbed Pinto is the biggest performace differance.

the zetec should be marginally faster everywhere except WG, where aero and top end advantage goes to the pinto. no matter how you restrict the zetec, you can never map out instant response of fuel injection or torgue...at equal HP.

So in the trim you guys are running (I know htere are differant wheel packages, ECU Maps, Etc), what is the performance differance between your generic 94/95 VD and a Zetec..

That's correct. A Zetec car is only found in model year 2000 and newer. That alone puts it in FC2

I would think Zetec's would run FC2?

As long as there is no frost on the ground, you can count us in for WG in 2007 with the Citation FC...
We have no plans to consider Zetec at this time, but will re-evaluate our options when this motor needs a rebuild in about 1500 Miles. I want to see how FC Vs Zetec vs F1000 vs FSCCA shake out.
I know about all the longevity issues with the FC vs the more modern Zetec, but how do they compare performance-wise. Would the Zetecs still run with us straight up in FC1? Or is there some equalization (Weight, wheels, etc)to bring parity. In some trims the Pinto is faster then Zetec and visa versa in other trims.

If I get a Zetec(depending on price, availability) you have to return to FPR in 07 to race with us (Ric)
Fran, don't sell your FC or you will be racing with your bike

Lindsey, all my toys will be for sale at the end of the season. Whatever I still have in the spring is what I will be playing with next year. I do still have my FC.

The WG track fee has been in the 12-16,000 per day for a few years. They insist on us taking 3 days during a weekend date (fri, sat, sun). We wil try to share with another group to cut down on financial exposure. Our entry fee will probably be in the 180-200 with a double race weekend fee similar to what we pay now (300). If you check other clubs(scca) you will see we are less than them.
Fran, I wish you would just get an FC car and 'return' to racing.

Len and I will be at Lime Rock this weekend. Len will be driving my zetec. WG is my favorite east coast track and i will come so long as Len and weather are agreeable

I like the glenn, would much prefer an earlier date, but so long as we are not committed and the weather is above freezing, i would go.
wasnt our annual date in sept?

Lindsey, if I have something to drive I'll be there! If October was good enough for the sissys who drove Formula 1 in U.S. Grand Prix, it should be good enough for us. Any idea what the previous fee was for us to rent the track?

I would like a different date, also, but the date has been offered for October. I need to know who will go to WG in October.
Its unfortunate but ,for whatever reason, tracks don't give us much to chose from and annual dates are usually the way things are done

I AGREE WITH RIC, WOULD RATHER SEE A DATE IN AUG,
OR SEPT. I DON'T WANT TO RACE ON SNOWS.

i would think if WG is going to charge EMRA that much, they should offer a better date. It is much less about the money for me, than it is about the date(and frequently lousy weather).

What does that daily rate translate to in terms of entry fee? 20 bucks more? or 100? etc. I know you wont know exactly but some idea would help in the decision making process for those of us on a budget...

The EMRA board is discussing the schedule for next year. Watkins Glen has given us the Oct 19-21 weekend. They have also raised their fee to $16,000 per day! EMRA needs to know how many drivers really want to go to the Glen?
I believe WG is a track we don't want to give up, but we need drivers willing to attend the race. Who's interested?
