I did my SCCA Drivers School in a Monsoon at LRP. Killed a few turtles that day.... Learned allot about car control, was fairly quick (Next day sun came out and the students got replaced with Regionial & Nationial racers, and I got big dose of reality).

That weekend, all heavens broke loose, there were rivers comming across the track, any spin and you were buried for good, paddock was dismal, we had fun. However it was 80 Degrees. This upcomming race will be a differant challange, if car ws not in the process of being re-milk crated, we'd seriously consider attending.

I am wimping out... the person I was picking some parts up from is not going to be there saturday so I am making other arrangements. I just finished straightening my car last night but I dont own rain tires or swimmies for my race car so I am not risking it (as great a track as it is)

See ya all at Summit

Dani, this will likely be designated as a non-spectator event by LRP, so that means the track will not be admitting anyone themselves nor would there be a gate charge. Everyone who goes in will have to get a wristband from the club, so whatever EMRA is charging for spectators/crew, that is what you will likely pay to get in.

BTW, although we entered, Bill and I will not be able to make it up for the race this weekend. We did the NARRCs last weekend and had our fill of rain. Good luck to all on Saturday.

I don't think LRP charges for private club events. That said. Since my car does not have pontoons nor a bilge pump for the cockpit, I won't be going this weekend. The forecast is for 100% rain heavy at times Saturday PM. I have never seen such a dismal forecast, but that's the storm that's washed out the World Series in Detroit for the past few days.

Sad early ending for my 2006 season. I was looking forward to this event as a closer. I can't make any of the Summit date.

Oh well, only 120 shopping/tune up days till 2007 race season!

See you all in 2007.

PS: If anyone wants to do some indoor karting, there is a new location in Wallingford CT. Might be nice to get a group together for some winter fun.
