You asked for an opinion ...

During race, it would be perfered if laps behind saftey car does not count. As race drivers and typicial consumers we want as much as possible for our money. However, I don't believe this is not common racing pratice.

Let us know, so we can adjust fuel load accordingly to allow for the contigincy that we may be running "Extra Laps"... OK, we don't cut fuel calcs that close, but I know some guys do...

We will have a Safety Car on track in place of a Black Flag All for certain SAFE situations.

I will provide and drive the Safety Car for the first event.

While all the proceedures are not yet final, here are some details should the stewards feel it is safe for a Safety Car to be on track. This is NOT OFFICIAL and has not been finalized by the EMRA board.

Practice & Qualifying:
The course will go "Full Course Double Yellow". ALL drivers are to slow to a safe speed.
The Safety Car will enter the track with flashing lights.
The field will "STACK UP" behind the Safety Car and follow it where ever it goes! (at Shenandoah we may use cross over roads to avoid the area of the track where the incident has occured)
When the incident is clean & the track is ready to go green, the lights will go out on the Safety Car & it will enter the pits.
The starter will throw the green & the session will resume.
During clean up the clock will be ticking! If we circulate behind the Safety Car and use our session time, we are done!

During a Race:
The course will go "Full Course Double Yellow". ALL drivers are to slow to a safe speed. NO PASSING!
The Safety Car will enter the track with lights flashing and will attempt to pick up the leader.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS TIME TO BE WARMING TIRES! THE SAFETY CAR MAY BE TRYING TO PASS YOU TO BE ABLE TO PICK UP THE LEADER OF THE RACE!
The field will "STACK UP" behind the Safety Car and follow it where ever it goes! (once the Safety Car is at the front of the field you can warm your tires)
When the incident is clean & the track is ready to go green, the lights will go out on the Safety Car & it will re-enter the pits.
The starter will throw the green & the race will resume.

It has not yet been determined if laps behind the Safety Car will count. We will have a driver's meeting at the track to make sure everyone understands the proceedure.

What's your thoughts and opinions?
