I posted the same message as above on the EMRA site and got the below answer. For your information. Does anyone know someone who could help EMRA out with the strip charts???????
Nial RE: Pocono East....
It's really hard to pick a prefect spot for the timing tape with ultra-low cars. I honestly thought we didn't put the tape in a braking zone last time.... but the track undulates in certain areas which cause bottoming even on the straights. Also, we found that hot, sticky tires will lift the tape, even if it's in a good place.
I'm sure we all wish that Pocono made a buried loop available to us.
Anyway, we are not planning on using a timing loop this year. Caroline has said that she would prefer to use good old, reliable strip charts for the O/W race, so that's what we'll do.
If you know of anyone who is decent at running strip charts, EMRA could *really* use the help. Please ask your crew members or friends and let us know. A few extras sets of hands and eyes will make everything go a lot smoother....and of course, "team effort" is the EMRA way!
Also, since we doing strip charts, please use LARGE, CONTRASTING NUMBERS on your race cars (and please pass this on to others who may not read this). It can really be tough to get good results if the car numbers are hard to read. Thanks!

I sure hope that this time they do not put the timing tape in a place where it can get destroyed by the formula cars (eg. in the braking zone or on a bump). Last year it looked like they put it in the braking zone for the hairpin.14

Unfortunutly, I will not be making this event (and I kinda like that course, or hate it less then some of the other Pocono Configs)... Having trailer brake issues and the trailer/truck will be going into the shop that morning.
Have fun...
Regards,
Ambrose
