EMRA has posted the Sunday, 21 October race results on their web site. Where can people find the race results of the Friday/Saturday VRG races?

Watkins Glen was great. The weather was a little un-cooperative but the main event was a lot of fun and the most track time in a single race for most.
VRG officials, including Chris Shoemaker, did a good job making FPR drivers feel welcome and did what ever to make the weekend run smoothly. We are already working on 2008 at the Glen and the new track , Thunderbolt !

Weather was dry Fri morning, wet track and raining the second 2 sessions. Saturday was dry all sessions. It was a very fun event and everyone played nice... the enduro was "interesting".

Who will be posting lap times to mylaps.com for the Glen event, VRG, FPro, EMRA or all three?

This is the procedure that VRG is using to set up the grids. The FPR grid, as a whole, will start in front of VRG grid.

Thanks Lindsey, now I understand. Why was this format chosen (best lap in session 2 sets all three race grids)?

The second practice on Friday will be used as a qualifier run for grid set up for all 3 races. Your fastest time during that session will be used to determine your starting position in all 3 races

OK, maybe you all can clear this up for me...
Fri - 2 practice sessions, then 30 minute qually race... Are we gridding based on fastest practice times? Is the sprint race on saturday being gridded by finishing postion in the qually "race", or by lap times in the qually race?
And the enduro, we are being gridded by fastest laptimes in all sessions? Or just the "race" sessions...

Thanks for the reply...

If you don't have a flag or feel it coulds lead to confusion, you could put a marker out there like a cone or double cone at pit in or before pit in. Someplace that someone could easily get to safely. Paint or mark the cone if you feel it needs distinguishing.

FYI-My work schedule keeps shifting, yesterday I was 90% sure I was going to be able to make it, now chances are less then 20%, which is way I've not registered or sent you guest list yet. I'll take care of the logistics as soon as I know for sure.

You can use a Black Flag All as the start or continuation of your pit stop as long as track officials are deducting the time in the pits from the race. If they are adding additional time to make up the lost time from the black flag then you could not use that time towards your pit stop. Also, an individual black flag for a driver being called in does not count towards a pit stop.

Good idea, ambrose, for the pit board indicating pits open/closed. I will talk to Chris about that. When the green flag waves it is for everyone, not just the pole sitter.

Question on the first 10 min rule... The way I read the rules, it is based on running time for the race. So the 10 min starts clicking when the pole sitter takes the Green (Indicating start of race and 45 min timer), not when each individual driver takes the green. So the Pit window opens up at the same time for all of us. Correct?

Would be nice if we were able to put a flag or board out on pit wall advising all drivers when Pit is open or closed. In this way, individial teams don't need to keep tabs on the running time started by pole sitter crossing the stripe.

Black All Situation: Not that I expect one, but I assume you could pit during a "Black All" assuming it fell within the 10/10 parameters. Correct?

Chris or Lindsey:

Just question on qualifying for the Enduro. Based on the below schedule, will Enduro Position be based on fastest single lap time in the Fri/Sat Pratice sessions (Fri 10&1 and Sat 9:45) or the the fastest single lap from eihter the Fri and Sat Races?

From our perspective, we are only running Sat, trying to determine if it is better to shoot for hot lap in 9:45 Warmup or 11:40 Race. Either way works.

Friday Oct 19 8:00 AM Drivers Meeting
Friday Oct 19 10:00 AM Pratice 1 (20 Min)
Friday Oct 19 1:00 PM Pratice 2 (20 Min)
Friday Oct 19 3:45 PM Race (30 Min)
Friday Oct 19 7:00 PM Dinner

Sat Oct 20 8:00 AM Drivers Meeting
Sat Oct 20 9:45 AM Warmup (15 Min)
Sat Oct 20 11:40 AM Race (20 Min)
Sat Oct 20 3:45 PM Feature Race (45 Min)
w/mandatory 7 min pit stop

Here is a recap of the conversations between VRG and FPRO today:

MINI ENDURO, the agreed format will be.......
7 minute - Pit (car @ stop) / Self Timed
ANY refuel / driver out of car & extinguisher on hand
No car can enter until after 10min of running or during the last (20 minute window)
Limited PitSpeed (1st gear / 3000rpm)

QUALIFYING....the agreed format is we plan on using fastest laps for FPRO grids on Friday and Saturday (bit different then norm). All other will grid behind the FPRO guys. Note - VRG has accepted some Ontario FF1600 cars (treaded Dunlops) and they will grid with you all

GUEST LIST......please provide any/all names of people you think may attend (crew, guests) to Lindsey. The track requires a list of all people beforehand - better to be safe then sorry.

As always, feel free to reach out if you need to discuss. THANKS!

Of course , your engine would have to be off while the 7 min. elapsed. The fire exteinguisher rule is good and it will be added.
The reason for the 10/10 rule was to have , at least, 20 min during the race when everyone is on the track.

Sounds OK to me... Only 2 suggestions.

If you refuel - not only must driver exit, but engine must be off (Not that any of us can sit idle for 7 Min).

If you refuel, an external fire extengisher must be in your pit box, accessable to your crew.

I'm OK with the 10/10 Minute rule, but it may be easier to enforce if simplified and left open to pit anytime after the green and anytime before the checker, with stipulation, you can-not cross the checkered in the pits (Eliminates last lap stops). I see challanges with drivers/crew keeping track of elapsed time and communicating it to the driver.

Here are the rules for the mandatory pit stop for the 45 minute Enduro race on saturday afternoon Oct 20:
This is a timed race. You must stop for 7 minutes during the race. The pit stop may not be earlier than 10 minutes from the start or 10 minutes before the end of the race. That leaves a window on 25 minutes in which to make your stop. Pit lane speed limit is 1st gear 3000rpm.
A crew member may hold a pit box only when you are on your in lap. 7 min. timing is by each driver/crew member and starts when driver comes to a stop in pit box. Car cannot move until 7 minutes elapse . Driver must exit the car if you refuel. Driver changes are allowed. You may work on car during the stop. You may not change tires unless you have a flat. You may pit during yellow. Your timing sheet must show a 7 minute+ time for one lap during the race. You will be scored last if it is not clear that you stopped for the mandatory pit stop. We will go over rules at the track prior to the race. Any questions?
