Boy does that bring back memories- forgot how old Switlik was when
we went there--
Still remember the musty smell of those stage curtins to this day-
We could make a movie about our freshman football team- "Lovable Losers"- Poor Coach Munley, wish he had a few more good players on
that team, instead of guys like me-- The Best Benchwarmer Ever At
Jackson Jr Sr High--

Let's start at the very beginning-- I moved to Jackson the summer after my 8th grade in South Brunswick school system-- 9th grade for the class of 1967 the 8th grade class of 1968 AND the 7th grade of
1969 all began their Jackson education at Switlik going to split sessions-- I'm not sure but I think we finally got to attend the actual high school before the academic year was over -- the football team used a practice field near the Orthodox church-- we players spent the beginnings of practice picking up pieces of broken glass and empty beer cans- but the sand burrs were a constant pain---- Coach Munley could not kick anybody off team - think we only had 15 players-- Dave Green, Scott Morrow, John Diab, Big Ray Carraker, John Hogan, Micky Morrison, Kevin Williams and assorted others made up the backbone of that team --

As we say in Alabama-- " Roll Tide "

ALL: Alice called me on Jan 23-2008 to tell me that she'd had a stroke. She is in a hospital in Los Vegas doing some rehabilitation/physical therapy right now. She is trying hard to get better. Her plan in the next few months is to come back east and stay in a rehab facility near her sister. Jon is doing OK, but with some health concerns also...he will probably drive back east with their stuff. Alice told me it was OK to post a phone number to contact her, so that's what I'm doing. The number is 1-702-465-0119. I do not think she has access to the internet. I know she would love to hear from some of us. It would surly cheer her up. By the way, she is also hopeful that we can have a re-union of our class in Summer of 2008.
