Hi all. Just wanted to say Carol passed from pancreatic cancer. She was a very private person and didn't let anyone know she was ill. Her youngest son Chad took care of her at home where she passed away on Saturday night.

Thank you Oscar for your help with Carol's Obituary. It was such a sad day for me. I hope that any of the "old" crowd will hear the news and remember her laughter.

I believe Carol's a member of '68. Diane graduated in '70, and Joanne in '72. I saw Joanne at the "Thirty-Something" reunion in July. How sad... :(

Thanks Nial, What a shame to have lost him now. But he certainly had a very long and successful life. I heard on classmates that Mr Morro went to a reunion recently. Does anyone know how to contact him or any of the other teachers still with us. We would like to extend them an invitation to the reunion. Alice

I can add three faculty deaths, one quite recent.

I read on Classmates a few months ago that Russell Miller, who chaired the Art Dept., passed away about a year or so ago. I found the obit in the Asbury Park Press.

Robert Russoman, who taught Chemistry (perhaps later than 1968) passed away in (I think) 1998. I went to the viewing. (It was in Point Pleasant and I used the drive as a stamina test following my last lung surgery.)

More recently, Edna Lippert, who was the librarian, passed away a few weeks ago at the age of 83. I read her obit in the Star-Ledger, though I'm sure it can probably be found on the Asbury Park Press site as well. Her sons graduated from Jackson (band alums) in (I believe) 1970 and 1975.

Alice, Gary died from lung cancer. 10 years after he had quit smoking. I had a very hard time dealing with his passing. I spoke with him the day before he went. His mother called me to inform. They are good people.

I don't have any real official source of information on any of these folks...most of it comes to me "second-hand".

At some point, the best source for info about this might be Bernie Ryder (I'm not really in contact with him, but I know he's still at Jackson High).

Anyway, another Jackson grad....(Oscar just sent me this)

Published in the Asbury Park Press 5/25/03
EVELYN MAY ARCHER, 55, of JACKSON, died Friday, May 23, at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Brick. She was a financial aid technician for 24 years at Ocean County College.
