Hi Gordon, I remember the name. I did not know that you and MaryAnne were married to each other. Just did not make the connection. Will we see you both at the reunion? Say hi to MaryAnn for me. Alice

Oscar:

It's the same place (actually called "Louden/NH International Speedway"), but we're not going for the bike event (that was last month).
The track is also used for NASCAR and sports car racing (which is what I do).
I do have a street bike (Honda 500 Ascot), but I've never been up to the "Laconia Motorcycle Week"...sounds like fun.
Our family (about 25 of us) is renting cabins on Lake Winnisquam that week. Since the track is nearby, we're going to try to get over to the vintage car event on Sunday or some of the sports car practice days during mid-week.
We're not bringing the Austin Healey to NH, but we'll be bringing it to a race in Ontario the following week.
I've been to Bike Week in Daytona...it's cool, but a bit too over-the-top for me.

Web page for Laconia:

Nial,
you wouldn't happen to be going to the motorcycle rally in Laconia, I went there in 1969, I wonder if they still have the bike week there, that one was better then the one in Daytona.

Hi Gordon,
Yes, I remember you. I think you were in a lot of my classes. Hard to think that word grandchildren could be in our vocabulary. It isn't in mine yet-had our children later. My daughter is a junior at U of Hartford and my son is a senior in HS. Yes, getting older.

Hi Gordon...great to hear from you! Of course we remember you (your family was just as big as mine, but with more redheads). I still cruise through Cassville about once-a-month (my folks still live in the area)...it's changed, but it's still recognizable....the firehouse, "Burkes" and "Whitey's" are all still there (with different names).
Hope the weather is nice up in New England....I'll be in NH (Laconia) next week.
Say "Hi" to MaryAnn (for some reason, I think I remember that she and I were two of the youngest '68 Jackson grads...weird, what sticks in your head after 35 years)....and it would be great if you could guys could make our reunion (info on top of page).
OK, have a great day,
Regards,
Nial

Hi Diane, I am feeling fairly well thank you. I guess I kept enough drugs in my system to keep from having any pain but I really never felt badly. Now if the dentures would stop slipping that is the only real discomfort I have had. I have become the original bionic woman. Total hip replacements, Dentures. What next. Alice

Warren Pound was my friend. I went through school with him. His Father had a red Saab. He went to the C.I.A. or FBI. I sound like Ralph Wiggums from the Simpsons. http://www.pencorse.freeserve.co.uk/ralph3.gif

Alice,
Hope you are feeling better. My daughter went through some major oral surgery and I know how hard it is to deal with.

Hi Alice,
I know you were not being argumentative. I agree with you as you can see at the end of the posting you responded to. Thank you for jogging my memory about the name of the principal. Mr. Morro-I had been trying to remember that. I could only remember the nickname everyone gave him. What ever happened to him?

Hi Diane, Let me preface this by stating I am not trying to be arguementative at all. But at our Graduation Mr Morro made a distinct statement the the class of 68 was the first to spend its entire 4 years at the same building we started our freshman yr in the new high school and did all four yrs at that building. There were 2 classes in front of us. The class of 66 who went 2 yrs to Lakewood and Your class who did a yr at Switlich. That is where the Distinction lies. We were the First class to attend all four years in the new building.

Dianne:
Thanks for the info....I wasn't real sure about the "first Jackson" class....that clears it up.
Mary Alice is married and doing fine, living somewhere in PA. She taught for a while at Ocean County College...my folks see her sister and her Mom on a regular basis.

Nial and Alice,
The class of '67 was the first to graduate all 4 classes from Jackson High School even though one of those years was at Switlik going double sessions. We never went to Lakewood. Prior to that, Jackson sent all of their high school students to Lakewood High School as that was the closest HS and there must have been some kind of agreement. When Brookwood was built, there were too many students to send, so Jackson built its own school. The class of '68 was the first to be in the building all 4 years.

I remember Mary Alice Gilligan. Does anyone know what she is doing now?

You are correct Nial. Our class was the first class to go all 4 years to Jackson. The first 2 classes did their freshman & sophomore yrs in Lakewood.

I recall the double sessions. I believe that my next-door neighbor (Mary Alice Gilligan) had to deal with this....and I also believe Warren Pound did this.
If my memory is correct, I think that the class of '68 was the first group to spend all four years at the actual high school. For some reason, I think some of the earlier grads (maybe '65 or so) went to Lakewood...is that correct?
I drove near the "HL Green" area recently....not surprisingly, it's all different.
Oscar: It sounds like Florida could have their own "Jackson reunion".

Hi Diane,
I write to Pat Adamo almost on the daily basis, she lives in Port st. Lucie Florida, and is doing very well. Don't know if you remember Jeroldine, (Jerry) Wojohoski from 67, she married Bob Barry Jr. she lives by me in Florida, run into her a lot. Jimmy Pesca, talk to him a lot, he lives in Brick, and all doing great. Linda Mitchell has recently moved to Daytona another 67 grad, also doing great. Well, glad you found this site as well.
Always,
Oscar.

Anyone from the class of '67? I know Pat Adamo was looking on the Classmates site. Thanks for all of the memory joggers here. It has been fun reading the trivia about Jackson. Thanks to all who have organized this site, and kept it going. Does anyone remember going on double sessions when Jackson High School was being built? We had classes in the Switlik Elementary Building.
I think classes started 7-7:30 and ended right after lunch for us. In the winter, it was dark when I got the bus. My sister went in the afternoon and it was dark when she got home.

Alice, I think we must have worked at HL Greens at the same time.
