Hi Nial,
Yes I went to TSC and I graduated in Dec. '72. I lived on campus for 1 year and the rest of the time in an off campus apartment. My last 2 years I worked at the IHOP in Trenton.
Where the luncheonette used to be there is still a small cafe (the old counter is gone and the place has taken over the space of the dress store that used to be next door). I don't know if you remember but my dad also had a Sabrette hot dog stand at the corner of County Line Rd (near the place the Dairy Queen was later built. My father came up with the idea for a luncheonette so he wouldn't have to make the long commute to NYC.
When I visited Jackson for the reunion (in 2000 ?) the area looked exactly the same to me....just the trees in Brookwood were bigger.
I have no idea what the W in Big W stood for...but I'm sure someone knows.

Also you mentioned a band. I recall for my 14th birthday we had a band in the rec room of our Brookwood split level. I remember someone named Chet singing with the group that night. (It may have been Joe Mina's band.

Hi Judy.......did you attend Trenton State College? (I still can't say "The College of New Jersey") I'm a "72 grad from "TSC".
I saw "The Big W" building not long ago....it's open, and running some sort of store in the building. I forget what's in the "Lou's Luncheonette" area, but I remember that original store too.
The mention of "Wild Thing" (Troggs) is a real memory-jogger...during high school, I was in a little garage-band with Sam Woodson ('69), Bob Barnes ('69) and David Wayne ('68)....we did that song all the time (I guess, 'cause it was so easy).
When was the '69 reunion?
Just to throw some useless trivia in here: does anyone recall what the "W" in "Big W" stood for?

"Now, by some long slim chance, do you know if your friend Judy Moses's parents owned '' Lou's Luncheonette''in Brookwood Plaza?"

Hi. Yes my dad is Lou of Lou's Luncheonette. I still refer to many of the songs from the 60's as "luncheonette songs" because we listened to them so often. The length of time the record remained in the jukebox was determined by how frequently the song was played. (the jukebox was equipped with a counter) Songs like "96 tears" and "wild thing" were 2 luncheonette songs. In those days a large coke cost 15 cents.
In one of the messages someone wrote about the Big W....I still possess one of the large red buttons the employees wore that had a big W shaped like a shopping cart. When I was at the '69 reunion it was sad to see part of the shopping center all boarded up. However, the location of the luncheonette did have a small cafe/burger place.
I too was friends with Bonnie Van Arsdale and remember her sister driving us around in a truck.
