Wow....11 days without power. I get 'antsy' when the power is off for 11 minutes!
Welcome to our humble site.....feel free to kick in with any old memories or questions.

Hello -- I'm a little late with this, but yes, we did have a rough time of things here in Virginia due to Isabel. Our house was without power for 11 days. During the storm, a huge tree collapsed our neighbor's swimming pool and sent its entire contents into our basement -- about 2" of water in some areas of the floor. Anyway, great web site! What a nice way to make the world seem smaller ...

Yeeks! More crazy weather here in NJ.
Today we had tornadoes in central Jersey! My daughter (in Princeton) saw some very high winds near her. Winds in my area were high enough to topple a huge tree in my neighbor's yard.
Still, I'm not complaining....a lady I work with told me her daughter in Norfalk VA hasn't had power in about 5 days.

Overall, Jackson (and my area in northwest NJ) didn't suffer much: just a few tree limbs down and a brief power outage. I was out driving during much of the storm and, in fact, I drove through Bound Brook (which suffered huge floods during the last hurricane).
Obviously, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Delware took a harder shot....I hope all in those areas are OK.

Baltimore was hit hard. Fells Point and Harborplace were flooded. Isabel came through at high tide and caused a surge...and the water just kept coming. Many trees were uprooted and much of the metro area is still without power.

Isabel won't be as bad in NJ as it will be in SC and Virginia...but heavy surf, rain and some high winds are expected.
One of my brothers is buying a house in Jackson and we're doing most of the move tomorrow. We'll probably get wet, if nothing else. Oh joy!
Hope the rest of you near the east coast stay high and dry.
