So sorry to hear about Bernadette. I was in the same graduating class as Mike. Being a parent, I can only imagine loosing a child. It is something all parents fear of happening. I am sure they have some wonderful memmories to help keep them going.

Wow John,
I didn't know Donna passed away, she was such a happy go lucky girl, she sat behind me in almost all of my high-school years, I remember her always laughing, it really blew me away to have read that, how bad do I feel, she was in the class of 70 with me, such ashame, really sorry to have read that.
Oscar.

Thanks Mike. Ed has told me he has been emailing you. He thanked me for putting you in touch with him again. He is also taking this all pretty hard. We all are. But I know that your prayers will help us to continue on. That is what Bernadette would have wanted. She
is now happy with her grandparents again and her cousin and eldest brother.

I knew Mike Flanagan...a nice fellow.
I am very, very sorry to hear this sad news.
Unfortunately, it hits pretty close to home for me.
I lost my only son, Ryan, in an automobile accident in 1998. He was 17.
My only advice to Mike and his family would be to reach out to family and friends for support....and stay very, very busy.
If they have a religious affiliation, this is a good time to seek spiritual support.
I'm not sure that anyone ever really "moves on" from the loss of a child.....I think that with time and support, you learn to "manage" the emotions involved.
In our case, we knew that Ryan was always a cheerful kid and he would have liked us to continue on, and have a happy life...we've tried our best to do that. It's our way of honoring him.
I'm sure that Bernadette would want her family to have a positive and cheerful life too.
Please give them my condolences. I will say a prayer for them.
