Malaysia has 26 million people. Approximately 51.9% of the population are ethnic Malays while 24% are Chinese and 7% Indians. The indigenous groups of Borneo and the Peninsular like the Ibans, Kadazans, Dayaks, Dusuns, Muruts, and Bidayuh make up the remaining 17.1%.The average temperature is between 21-32 degrees Celcius and humidity is high. Heavy rains tend to occur between November and February on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, western Sarawak and north-eastern Sabah. In the west coast, the rainy seasons fail between April and May as well as October and November.
