You dont seem to understand, when you fill out the forms they can not be saved after being filled out for later printing. There is no lock on the forms. Forms can be saved on your computer, but not when it's filled out for the interactive forms, look for the floppy disk icon right next to the printer icon.
The format the forms are in have been in that way for the last 7 to 8 years. If you had read my article in the National MCLA Newsletter, it addresses the issues that members can experience AND have experienced. Before you start "bad Mouthin" me or the website, please remember, postings in this forum can be removed if deemed inapropriate.

My fianceè wants to join the MCL Auxiliary. Her brother is a retired Marine. I am soon to join the MCL (waiting for January meeting). Is she eligible for regular membership? OR, does she have to wait until we are married to be eligible? Thank you for your help!

I am a member of a local MCLA and was one of the original charter members. Are there any guidelines or requirements for being a webmaster for an MCLA website? Should the website contents be submitted to National for approval prior to making them public? Do you recommend someone who is NOT a member of the auxiliary be the webmaster?

Our company's software is sufficient to accomplish what we need done at work. I can open the forms on my HP Mini computer at home, but it does not have a printer. If I can figure out how to save the form it would be nice, but it seems to have a lock on it and it cannot be saved or opened by any other program. I am disappointed in your attitude towards the problems people may experience with your web site.

Try your local library or a friend's computer to print the forms you need.
You may want to sugget to your company to make sure that their sofeware is up to date for security reasons, older versions leaves them with opening for virues, malware, and hackers to get into their computer systems. Alot of damage can come that way.

I know the National Membership dues are $17.50 for Members at Large, but what are the Florida Department Dues? I also cannot print the forms on the website as my computer at work has older software and I am unable to update it as I am denied access to do so. How do I obtain the form to submit my dues to the appropriate departments?

I finally got the CORRECT answer from a past President. After 8 phone messages to Headquarters and 2 e-mails and asking an officer who has yet to get back to me since March I finally get what I needed from a Past President!

Each Unit sets their own annual dues. Check with your Unit's Secretary/Treasurer for that information.
For MAL's (Members At Large) dues are sent directly to National HQ, first year is $22.50 and $17.50 there after.
Hope this Helps

office eligibility
|

My husband and I used to be very active members of the Marine Corps League and we both held offices in the League and Auxiliary respectively. My husband was a life member; however, I inadvertently let my dues lapse in 2007. My husband passed away in March, 2008 and I found the time to become active again with my sisters in the Auxiliary. In July, I decided to become a life member so that my membership could not lapse again. Our Department Treasurer suggested that I pay the 2007 and 2008 arrears so I would not be considered a new member, so I was happy to do that!
We have had nominations of officers and a couple of members have nominated me to run as Treasurer. I would like to verify that I am eligible to run for this office. I have a couple of questions about ARTICLE SIX of the National Bylaws:
SECTION 620 - DELINQUENT MEMBER -
(A) A member, having been delinquent one or more years and desiring to renew her membership, may do so by paying all arrear dues or by joining as a new member.
(1) Retaining Seniority - Any back dues owed by a member wishing to regain and retain her seniority must be paid, otherwise she will be a new member and files a new application form, as of the rejoining date. In the event a member has been a Past Officer, loss of seniority cannot erase the fact of that office, merely the years as a member.
SECTION 630 - RIGHTS OF MEMBERS - No member shall be deprived of any rights and privileges in the Marine Corps League Auxiliary, except for non-payment of dues or other indebtedness, unless the member shall first be charged, tried and found guilty in accordance with the provisions of the National Bylaws and Administrative Procedures dealing with offenses and penalties.
(A) A new or reinstated Regular member must be a member for one (1) year before holding an elected office except for a newly chartered Unit.
(B) A new or reinstated member must be a member three (3) months before holding an appointed office except for a newly chartered unit.
Since I did not return to active membership until May of 2008, I do not know if I have the right to run for office according to SECTION 630 since I do not have one year before our March elections. Does that one year mean specifically twelve consecutive months? Does the previous decade count? Do I retain seniority in accordance with SECTION 620, allowing me to be eligible to run for office?
Unfortunately, the person who handles transmittals for our Unit has been unable to attend our meetings recently. She has been unwell, her husband has been unwell, her sister passed away last month, and she has just had too many things to deal with! When she sent the transmittals last year, there were some questions and, since she was unavailable, someone else addressed those issues and they have only this week been resolved by our Unit President and the Department Treasurer. Therefore, I am also not sure if I (and others in our Unit) are considered members in good standing and eligible to run for office. Our Unit Bylaws define members in good standing exactly as worded in ARTICLE SIX, SECTION 615 of the National Bylaws :
SECTION 615 - GOOD STANDING - All members shall be considered in good standing in the Marine Corps League Auxiliary,
(A) Except when:
(1) Required dues are not paid and transmitted within ninety (90) days after membership expiration date shown on member's membership card.
(2) A member is improperly indebted to a member's Unit, Department or to National Headquarters.
(3) Under suspension as punishment the adjudication of guilt as is provided in Chapter 9, Section 910, of the Administrative Procedures.
I would appreciate receiving your answers to these questions as soon as possible. I do not want to run for an office for which I am ineligible. Thank you!

Pat, I am looking at a check from the League for our 9 Life members. It was sitting in my china closet sine receiving it in November. I just couldn't figure out where it went. Anyway it is dated to be cashed in 90 days. Can I mail it back to Fairfax VA to you and ask for a new one? The money is probably messing up your account. Thanks Denise

I need to clarify my response to the question concerning how to report an address change.
Send a transmittal showing the old name (noting "old" just left of the name) and the new name on the next line (noting "new" just left of the name). Note "*name change" in the left margin beside these entries. See page 2 of the 'transmittal example' in the forms section of the national web site.

Send a transmittal showing the old address first (note "old address" in the left hand margin) and a second record showing the new address (note "new address" in the left hand margin)
