The Chesapeake Unit in Virginia has been working an OLA Program since at least the past 5 years. We liason with Chesapeake's Social Services and provide Care Kits for thier children who are taken out of their family situations, sometimes in the middle of the night and placed into foster care. These kits are age related and we make up several in advance and provide them as needed. We've had such an outpouring of love and support, that we just today donated 10 boxes of excess materials, that we just could no longer store. We were able to make up 37 kits which we will keep on hand for future requests from Social Services and the additional supplies of stuffed animals, clothing, pillows, books, and such were given to a local children's home, Hope Haven. We have decided to solitcite for 3 months out of each year for items for children in need and provide these needed items to Hope Haven and Social Service's to be used for these needy children.

There are many abusive situations in existence in our world today. You can do something to help! The Marine Corps League Auxiliary has launched a program called Operation Little Angel for its members to become aware of things they can do to aid those who are hurting. Please help the little angel. Contact your local area Child Abuse Center, Children's Home, or any organization affiliated with child abuse. These places need items for children from newborn to 17 years of age. Items needed are formula, booties/socks, all sizes of clothes, shoes, coats, blankets, soft cuddly toys, cribs, sheets, and other necessary items. Some of our angel are removed from the abusive situations in the middle of the night with nothing but the clothes on their back.

What is your Unit and/or Department doing to be involved with this program?
