Topic RE: How to identify and discuss gender bias in the workplace. posted by Browning User

I have worked in various settings with children and there seems to be a mindset that the female is more nurturing and understanding of a child's needs and desires. One way to identify gender biases in the workplace may be to gain insight from the students being served. Informal discussions with children can be very helpful in determining areas that need more attention. Moreover, superivisors of the workplace need to foster both genders and their potential contributions. Creating a task wheel may assist in the rotation of duties so equity can be readily implemented in the workplace.

What have you encountered and how have you discussed/challenged/resolved gender bias issues?
