there are some interesting places to research... paul sargent has a book called, REAL MEN OR REAL TEACHERS... there is a web site www.menteach.org that has valuable info and discussion... and www.connectionsforchildren.org has an article about men in ece archived in its newsletter section... i can e-mail you things i've accumulated over the years gregoryu@cfc-ca.org... also, the city of long beach has a male involvement group called THE ROLE OF MEN ACADEMY... contact DAVID HILLMAN at David_Hillman@longbeach.gov... i would also recommend the book or video RAISING CAIN... the video is available thru pbs...

I would be interested in hearing from you all about how you see the "fight" for the right to actually participate in ECE goes with you all---I am trying to gather more materials, anecdotes, data, and research for a couple of articles I am putting together. Need info on just how "safe" it is to have men in ECE---any articles out there you can put me onto? I am looking at the perception of "safety" for the men, women and children in ECE settings.......thanks for any info you could send me. Cary
