The first thing that we need to know is if the drive motor is electric or hydraulic, Zamperla made both types.

If it is electric drive, then it has a three phase electric motor that is controlled by means of an AC Frequency Drive unit. The RPM can easily be adjusted by changing the variables in the Frequency Drive unit.

If it is hydraulic, the speed is changed by adjusting the maximum setting on the variable flow control device.

Knowing the technicians from Zamperla very well, I really think that they never told your operator to change the voltage. They were propbably misunderstood by whomever, if anyone, actually talked to them about the problem.

We have a ride here in Maine that we inspected. It is running at 8.0 RPM and the recommended speed is 6.5 RPM. Does anybody have a suggestion for the owner/operator as to slowing it down. They said they contacted Zamperla and were told to cut the voltage. Any help would be apreciated.
thanks,
Jon
