The needle also had a complicated electronic injection system whose wires quickly leaked out all of their wire smoke rendering them useless.

Actually, there WAS a vaccine, but the needle was of English manufacture and all the vaccine leaked out.

I understand the flashback thing as do you. Tom will soon. We know the name for the syndrome but won't publish it here but it is fair to say it has affected all EMRA Chairmen except one for the last 20 years. Tom - I'm sorry but there is no vaccine yet.

Jim
Where we are is not such a bad place.
As current chairman I will be using the current
format and "situation" to the best of my abilities
to move EMRA forward. I will not be suggesting
or pushing for "club situation" reform.

Just wanted to calm anyone down that might read
into my post on this.

Thanks Bob. <shudder> The nightmares had finally stopped and now you brought it all back . . . ;~)

Tom - all that was accomplished was more discord. The same few voices fought against any hint of change. Change that was needed, but never accomplished. Like you, Dave W, Bob F, Leon S, Bob H, Jim T, and many others before and since, I tried hard to do what the organization desperately needed. A vocal minority out-shouted the silent majority. So, nothing changed, and we are where we are.

Best of luck.

So many familiar names on the results section. Although I must admit it was disappointing to see my own poor times in black and white. Interesting to note that the whole club issue and lack of people joining clubs was beginning to become an issue already.

Wow. Looking at the results section was a trip back in time.
I was also amazed at the number of entrants in each event.
Where did everyone go??

In the 1980's as a club rep I proposed the exact new club structure as seen here. I was verbally, abusively, attacked for even suggesting such a thing. 15 years later it was able to be published as a concept in the EMRA publication. Progress or Treason?
Was anyone hurt by writing this?
Was anything accomplished?
Have the authors come out of seclusion like Salmon Rushdie?
Obviously it also fell on deaf ears in 1999.
Let's see more history.
Long Live EMRA.
