It's low-resolution, but you get the idea.

310 is right, it's engines off. (I made one exception, one time, for somebody with starter issues, and caught enough grief over the next hour for that...)

Not to nitpick but I believe it used to be engines off at the start.
It is alot of fun.

EMRA's 2-Hour Enduro, that begins with the "modified" LeMans Start, is just a few weeks away. For those of you who have seen the beginning of this contest, you know what a blast it is. Twenty five or thirty racecars, lined up on Pocono's main straight against the concrete wall, engines running and drivers buckled in, just waiting for the signal. Designated runners for each car, lined up in pitlane, ready to sprint across pit road. When the green flag waves, those runners dash (or walk, or trip) across pitlane, jump (crawl over) the guardrail, and reach over the concrete barrier and tag their car. And those racecars take off in a cloud of dust and smoke and an exciting roar for start of the 2-hour enduro. Like I said, it's a blast and the most exciting start to a car race you imagine. Both for spectator and driver.
If anyone has some video of the start from previous years, please send it to our webmaster or post it on U-Tube and share it with everyone.
