I heartily recommend Brian's book. I had the good fortune to read it when it first came out and it is an excellent read, a real page turner. If you are interested in the convergence of civil rights and the earlier history of NASCAR this is an excellent book.

It's the life story of a unique pioneer in our sport and an investigative exploration of the many ways NASCAR treated him wrong.
