HANS - roger that. I'll be spending more on safety equip than on go-fast parts as I build this car, for sure. Aint it funny how as we age and mortality becomes more sharply in focus, we try harder and harder to defer the inevitable . . .
Car - Nope, 2.3-16Vs are too rare and pricey for this poor boy. I will be running a 1989 190E with a 2.6L 6 cyl. I already have 2 4 cyl 5 speed cars for parts sources, and will be picking up the 2.6 car tomorrow. All 3 for less than 1/3 the cost of a single beat up 16 valver.
Check yer email.
Thanks.

Have fun in GTS, and make sure you get yourself a SFI approved H & N for NASA's w2w program. (It's required.) I know people over there, let me know if you need some help with things along those lines.
You didn't buy one of them that M-B 190E 16V cars that was being advertised on flea bay, did you? I know a few people who were looking at those and heard good things about them.
Fenders for those things don't exactly grow on trees, you know...

ROFL - Thanks Rob. Yeah, SP is going to be my gauntlet. It'll be like New York; "If I can make it there, I can make it anywhere . . ."
And are you implying that a 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix would have difficulty with the hairpin at Poc-South? Must I remind you that said 1967 GP was in fact the PACE CAR at Poc-South, and no 3-point maneuvers were required. A little throttle induced oversteer maybe, but no reversing. :)
As to my racing future? NASA GTS-1. But not in a Beemer. Not a VW. Fuhgeddabout a porshay or an Awdee. I'm gettin' me a REAL Deutsche Auto. Sing it Janice!
"Oh Lord, won't you buy me a . . . "

Competition Board Agenda:
Item 1: Add training wheels to anything Jim drives. Also, add rubber bumpers to the chute at SP when Jim is on track.
Item 1A: Anything Jim drives must be able to negotiate the hairpin at Pocono South without doing a three point turn.
Welcome back to the fold, Jim... what are you planning on running?

In the (distant) past the Comp Board meeting was held the first weekend in December. Is that still the tradition? If not, has a date been set for the meeting?
