Hey EMRAs,
Nice looking schedule for 2010.
I've been away for a while,,, but looking to run some EMRA events in 2010.
Seems like all the EMRA drama has subsided and its running well again (judging by reading this board).

I LOVE the transponder idea. Whoever finally came on board with that,,, you have my extreme Kudos.
Its something I have long wished EMRA would do.

As for the Pocono LONG course config,,, coming from someone with a whole pile of track days at Pocono in every possible configuration,,, I heartily recommend the DOUBLE INFIELD CLOCKWISE "WITH" the South Hairpin configuration.

The Long course using NASCAR 1 & 2 into the North is a yawner and going CCW is really dangerous IMHO, especially with many cars in lower prep, street trip, basic or no cages, minimal safety gear.

1 screw up in the bumps coming off that tunnel turn and its a world of hurt.
Anyone else who was there the day Rob Driscoll died knows what I mean.
I'll never drive that track that direction again.

Going CW is much safer, the entry off Long Pond into South course is much safer,,, and when you add the hairpin in,,, you make it almost a road course as opposed to a smaller oval.

In any case looking forward to seeing some old EMRA faces in 2010.
Cheers

Is the Lime Rock August 27-28 date for all cars or just closed wheel?

it looks like more TT events will be held over the weekends and that's great! Along with the promise of more track time due to transponder use that's enough to lure me back......(after 2006 i ran with SCDA and CART ). Cecil R (st2 champ 2006- sliver amg c32).

Understanding that it's nice to drive a track which is technical. It's also nice to be able to drive on a track in which your able to run at a higher speed, so why not take advantage of it when the offer comes along and drive the long course at Pocono "counter clock wise," turn one, turn two and into the infield of the north course.

Use them all..North backwards to East to South..up the short straight to north. We will only need 100 corner workers

I'd strongly prefer the double-infield course. And I'd like the "backwards south course" part with the hairpin, without the bypass. Otherwise it becomes just another slightly kinked straight and there are already too many straights on this course as it is.

PDA/NASA runs 2 long courses at Pocono. Option 1- front straight, NASCAR turn 1, NASCAR turn 2 (tunnel turn), reverse North course back to front straight. Option 2- front straight, South course, NASCAR turn 2 (tunnel turn), reverse North course back to front straight.

My preference and many others is option 1. Running full out on Long Pond Straight (between turns 1 & 2) is a blast. Also you get a nice long stretch of the front straight into the turn 1 banking.

Pocono in May will be a long road course. The exact configuration is not yet determined, we can use what ever part of the facility we wish on that day. Thus eveyone's input is desired before the decision is made. That said, this one will be the bestest for the fastest!

Nice schedule.
