Dear "When-cut,"

Please do not go lamenting; instead, try to concentrate on your own quality and productivity, which will help you in the long run.

Regards,
MT, "not cut" :)

Dear Venkat:
To be fair, it is not just a question of being born in paradise (USA) that their citizens object to outsourcing. The cost of living in USA is far higher than that in India. You pay $800 onwards rental per month for a flat. They have various forms of taxes which too are quite high. Cost of essential commodities for daily living too are very high. Most medical transcriptionists in USA working from home are women who also need to be taking care of their homes and children. A home generally cannot be run by only on the husband's earinings. Both husband and wife have to work to make their ends meet. With outsourcing these home-based women medical transcriptionists are hit bad with cut in their rates/line thereby effecting the household income. Read MT Stars at http://forum.mtstars.com/main and you will get an idea. But then being a capitalist economy, all USA wallahs are out to cut costs in order to make more profits. The companies, hospitals, etc. are answerable to their shareholders and need to give a good return on capital invested especially in these depression days. Therefore, employees and independent contractors can only cry hoarse but even their elected representatives to Congress can do little about it.

Therefore, MT work like others will continue to be outsourced from USA though rates may seesaw as more and more third world countries become eligible for such kind of work. India's good diplomacy around the world will keep us in good books with oursourcers.
