Obama may not stop outsourcing. Transcription work will increase 10 times more as ICD-10 is Being Implemented. Remember, Insurance needs legible and detailed Medical Notes. Transcription is must for Appropiate Medical Coding and Billing.

You may consider other realted courses like Medical Coding and Billing.

Read my views at http://mtjobs.getweblist.com/viewtopic.php?t=1942. NASSCOM is only playing with statistics and is not aware of ground realities. Soon there will be only online platform work available in India which is for HBTS earning on line rate is a headache and very unproductive. Such work is best suited working from the providers' office for a salary as one does not which specialty or dictator one will get next. Here there are no fixed set of dictators or specialties.

As far as the rates payable to HBTs in India goes, the future of medical transcription here is that the middle class is soon going to the level of the BPL class.

Mr. Shaik,

The future of medical transcription is very bright. No need to panic. As far as Obama governance is concerned he has already stopped outsourcing. He has already levied 30% taxes to companies who are outsourcing their work. He cannot ban outsourcing as it is not in his hands. As far as recession is concerned, actually there should be no effect on MT business because it is a medical field, but what is happening is US that due to job cuts in other fields the people who have lost their jobs in other fields are coming into MT field. Earlier in January 2008 people were thinking MT field as housewife work but now the people who were working in citibank and other reputed companies are coming to MT field. Hence there is a rush in MT field. There is one more positive sign for US is that due to recession everybody is trying to cut the costs hence the companies who were against outsourcing are looking to outsource to make profits.
I am watching this field closely for the past 10 years. When we were in training in 1999 there was panic that voice recognition is coming, but that thing has come and gone. Now this recession is there this will also come and go. Yes there is one thread that is looming over the world is the next World War. I believe this will change the whole scenario, because when China attacks India then Pakistan will also definitely attack India and in that situation we will have to see as to what America does; that will be a question mark for Obama, then he will have to show whose friend he is. No doubt that Russia will support India, but the actual question mark will be on America. So friends just sit and watch what is next.

Thanks
Venkat
