You can stop overnight on the front overlooking the harbour in the parking meter bays if you are booked on a ferry. This is recognised but you must move off before the parking meter periods become active which I think is 8am. Used it many times.

we were booked on 5.05am ferry so we called in at Tesco at the top of the hill just outside Dover did a bit of shopping then spoke to one of the management type guys and asked if we could have a short kip in the car park.

I was told that he couldn,t see a problem with that so we pulled over to the edge out of the way and noticed a couple of oher vans

I am trying to locate a site for an overnight stop close to Dover available for a single night at the August bank holiday. The usual Camping and Caravanning Club Club sites along with the Keats Farm Site all require bookings for multiple nights. Can anyone recommend a possible site.
