Even though your 4 year old eats a lot of fruit and veggies they can contribute to weight gain. apples are GREAT foods but if you 10 a day you WILL gain weight!!! Same for any other fruit. Veggies are usually different because they have such a low calorie count. The key to food is to use the fuel. Activity plays a huge factor to weight.
Remember unused sugar stores as fat.. The math is simple. Expent more calories than you intake.
I am not a nutritionist but I have battled weight my whole life and have been to many in my day. That all say the same.

Does anyone know if there's such a thing as a Pediatric Nutritionist, and if so, can anyone kindly suggest one in the Bergen Cty area? My 4 yr old seems to have a tendency towards easy weight gain which perplexes me considering her daily food intake and abundancy of healthy fruits and veggies. Could too much fruit contribute to too much sugar intake?
